Glad to see the undertaker is a fan of the Undertones. This is the John Peel/Bernard Cornwell crossover we needed. Bravo and thanks for the videos Peachy, I didn't think I could dig The Silver Bayonet more than I already do, but you've gone and bloody done it.
It's been interesting to see how Joseph McCullough changes the rules as he goes. I did hear people complaining that the damage calculation, the difference between two D20, can vary wildly in Frostgrave and Stargrave, and then here Joseph is using 2D10s so similar numbers keeping the system intact but with a nice twist where the damage calculation with Silver Bayonet is always going to be based on just one D10 which is nice. Not to say one game is better than the others, but it's interesting to watch Joseph work with different options.
Also FG rules writting is "bad" in the sense that he takes paragraphs to describe something simple. As a result, FG is a chuncky messy rulebook when you first start reading it. Later came silver bayonet and he kept his writing a bit more focused which is good. Dont get me wrong, FG is a cool game but the book is a bit of a chore xD
McCulloughs' games are really rich in narrative which I like, but something about the dice rolling mechanics in his game engine fails to click with me. I'm not sure if the D20 system is as random as people claim, you usually look at the difference between two D20 rolls so you.. should get a normal distribution going, right? There are checks where you just roll D20 and try to beat a target number though. Maybe the shift to a 2D10 system is a way forward.
Joes rules all feature minimal differences between elite units and basic units. If playing these games you have to accept that at any moment your favourite guy can get killed by a thief with a knife. If you like D&D where your fighter wades through hordes of goblins, Frostgrave will be a shock. It’s more like Cthulhu where you can get zapped in one shot.
Fantastic. You know what's absolutely genius about this tutorial?! It doesn't lose sight of the fact that this is a game ♥️ It's fun, and it light hearted. It's inviting and doesn't stress about getting it right and knowing everyrhing. It's not put together like an exam prep video that you're going to be tested on afterwards. This looks fun and I can't wait to try Silver Bayonet out!
I’m loving all the Silver Bayonet content! I just started painting up a couple of units. I’ve got my dad, brother, and best friend interested. I’m running out first games tomorrow!! This video will be awesome to jumpstart them into the game!
This is such a great companion piece to the battle report style ones - great to see the mechanics at work but keeping the battle reps focussed on the narrative works so well - absolutely loving this! Keep it up!

I really like how you have expanded way beyond Warhammer. I love Warhammer (all settings) as a setting but I prefer Solo/Co-Op games ruleset-wise. Reminds me of the good ol' days like Space Hulk, Execution Force, and Deathwatch Overkill! My plunge is likely to Rangers of Shadow Deep.

The audio seemed fine but I'm sure the new equipment will make it even better. I'm loving the narrative side of these videos and can't wait for the next battle report 😊
You've actually got me to buy the Silver Bayonet rulebook and the Sharpe dvd-box. I've watched up to Sharpes Sword and I love em! But I haven't managed to decide on what force to make my first warband yet..
Hahaha! That’s awesome! That’s some marathon viewing you’ve accomplished so far. Picking a unit is tough tbh, I’ve got so many British built and painted up as I can’t decide which I types I like the most I can probably make a battalion out of them all lol.
Looks like great fun. Currently I'm torn between this and mortal gods. Ash barker has a battle report. It looks like one of the coolest games I've seen. Silver bayonet really has my number too. It's a dilemma.😅

I am putting together a Silver Bayonet adventure, but set in New France during the FIW. As the primary characters will be French, I regret the inability to respond to any and all dangers with "bugger". 😀 Cracking video. Cheers!
Wonderful video, informative and fun. Ive really been enjoying all your silver bayonet videos and i think that my next purchase might be a SB book and some minis for it. Please keep making more videos on these other games, its been great to hear about them and see some different perspective on miniature games.

Fun video! Great looking miniatures! Peachy-Have you considered doing a “Silver Bayonet “ challenge (open to patrons) which lets patrons show off pics of their miniatures, troops ,some battle pictures, and their results from a series of scenarios you design (maybe a Dracula’s castle attack- featuring innovative and cool terrain and assigning point values for certain victory conditions) just an idea to get more patrons into the fun of silver bayonet!

Yeah, the 2 d10 system seems superior to 1 d20. We’ve been working with replacing the d20 roll in RPG’s with a multiple d6 roll instead. It really makes a difference because rolling 3 d6 you’ll tend to get more rolls in the center of the curve. Also replacing target numbers for hitting/wounding with opposed rolls. So even a pretty mediocre fighter can hit a decent fighter, if the better fighter scores low with his defense roll.
My copy of the book just arrived in Australia. Can't wait to get stuck into some hobby with Sharpe playing in the background! Have you considered posting this in Board Game Geek? I tried to do it for you, but they prefer the creators to post them.
Loved the video. 👍 Made the rules super easy to understand, and the narrative elements made me laugh. Although that Rifleman Peach cliffhanger....now I'm invested. Will he return at a dramatic moment to save Sharpe? Will he show up as a zombie? *Gasp* Will he join the French? I need to know what happens next. 😂
