I think Thief fits the bill more than Assassin and hear me out: a Thief Rogue can use Second Story Work to mimic the grappling hook by climbing up into a sniper's nest and you can deploy spider mines as a bonus action in the form of caltrops and ball bearings that slow down the enemy that climbs up to you (flavored as poison). For DoT-mines you can probably concoct something with a poisoner's kit proficiency from your background. The only thing you're missing is her ult which you correctly deduced is only achievable via Warlock 7. Archfey is a fine choice for patron. Blade is indeed the best choice for pact. Though I would grab Message for long range communication with allies.
@@AwesomeWookiee Hanzo would be an Arcane Archer. Divination arrow is perfect for the sonar skill, and Evocation arrow is okay for the split skill. Curved shot (the level 7 ability) fits the abilities he shows in the cinematic. Climbing speed can be gotten via Athlete, which works well for a ranged combatant, allowing you to drop prone when in your nest for defense without the mobility downside. The ult could be arcane archer's piercing arrow or Aganazzer's Scorcher (wizard levels required).
If this is the last video: Tulok, it's been an honour. If you're ever in the North of England you've got a pint (or pint alternative) waiting for you. I joined around episode 12. It's been a ride.
For everyone talking about the steep time cost of infiltration, there's a lot of references to it just being a deception check. Well, that's a DM dependent obviously; The onus Is on your dungeon master to make sure that the ability is handled well. But realistically? In both terms of what the ability implies, and how long it takes to set up? You're taking a week and spending 25 gold to not have to make one at all. If you throw on a guard's armor and you are walking around, maybe someone notices that you're moving a little stiffly, you're watching around a little too carefully, you're not quite good enough yet at acting like a bored guard paying careful but not too careful attention to people nearby. But if you spend a week investing in that identity, if I was running the game nobody would even notice.
Never done it, but if I was a DM, I'd lower the time cost til next session, send the player a bunch of info and gear based on what their cover is, and allow them to skip certain checks entirely as long as they're undercover. Maybe they get maps of the area and know when shift changes are which benefits the rest of the team.
For more of a powerbuilding thing I'd think of doing Thief Rogue and Gloomstalker ranger. Thief's second story work will allow you to be more nimble up top. Gloomstalkers will give you proficiency in Longbow and Heavy Crossbow, increased dark vision for better accurate sniping and you get rope trick which you can flavour as your grappling hook
Nah, TF2 Sniper is amiable but a bit of a loner and a weirdo, so he wouldn't really have the Charisma to justify Warlock levels. He's all about the outback though, so Gloomstalker Ranger would be on point.
0:30 excellent choice in music as usual. I would like to see your take on the TF2 sniper if we're doing a month of sharpshooters. My money would be on some kind of ranger/fighter mix.
Remember when Tulok tried to find a DnD race that either looked and/or thematically matched the character he tried to build instead of copping out with custom lineage?
I'll never play Overwatch again, but this made me remember how much I used to love it. Great build, makes me want to try out something similar at home.
I tried making this build, but that was so long ago that Widow still had 200 hp I think I made her assassin rogue, arcane archer fighter, and a handful of wizard levels
Eh... kinda? BG3 seems to be using mostly, if not entirely, PHB stuff for its classes and subclasses, not some of the later stuff. For instance, there is currently no Artificer class available. Maybe this will change in the future.
Speaking as a French-American, Widowmaker still has nothing on the greatest, toughest French character… no, it’s not Jean Valjean… it’s Madeline. DUDE! She went up to the tiger in the zoo and went “poo poo.” OHHHHHHH! Madeline build when lol? 🐅
So one thing that you can do with this build to make it a little stronger is replacing the 8th Warlock lvl with a lvl in Fighter. Since you’re using your Warlock ABI to get the feat for the Archery fighting style, multiclassing into fight gets you the same thing while also giving you a slightly larger Hit Dice, Second Wind, and medium armor. Granted since Widowmaker is a glass cannon none of these are really in the spirit of the character. Granted one thing that you would sacrifice is an additional Spell Known that wasn’t included in the video.
Another cool sniper to add to the sniper off. The teleports and invisibility might just give her the edge. This is more of a question cause I never understood how well it would work as a movement option, but with the Ascendant Step Invocation could it be grappling hook adjacent or just floating sniper?
You do amazing work Tulok, I hope you have a great day Overwatch Checklist: Tanks Left: 8 Offense Let: 16 Support Left: 6 I hope the next Overwatch characters are Orisa, Junkrat and Zenyatta.
If I remember right her skin is blue because they've made her heartbeat extremely slow to improve her sniping, which I think it's Hollow One that has a thing like that? Just an interesting thought
Still pulling for Eglentine Price (Bednobs and Broomsticks), Mary Poppins, Councilor Troi (ST: tNG), Septimus Pretorius (Bride of Frankenstein), Winifred Sanderson (Hocus Pocus), Prince Voltron (Flash Gordon), Sir Dragonet King Arthur's jester (Iddyls of the King/ le Morte d'arthur), and the Reverend Doctor Syn (The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh).
Hi there, so I was going through the channel looking for a necromancer-type build. The closest one that I found myself was the Hela video and that was a death domain cleric build while I'm looking for more of a wizard necromancer setup. I could imagine that some of the spells would be similar; however, I don't really know a whole lot about DnD or what's available to each class. Then I started thinking who could you even model it after, for my knowledge the best I could come up with was Sauron. Now, I don't know a whole lot about the actual power of Sauron as a necromancer beyond he "created" the Nazgul, which I suppose would be like Shades perhaps? Something that I don't even know if that's possible within the scope of DnD 5e. If there is a necromancer build on this channel somewhere and I have accidentally missed it, if somebody could tell me the video that'd be great. If not, I think it could be neat to set up one of these types of builds with Sauron The Necromancer as the influence. --- As a side bar --- The only alternative that I think I am familiar with would be Hades from DC Comics, in particular I'm thinking of the Justice League episode(s) Paradise Lost 1 & 2 where Hades raises a seemingly endless undead army in front of the door to Hell/Underworld. I put this as secondary of course cause Hades is a God and in the scope of DnD could probably do whatever he wanted at any point.
a spider in the morning watch you with ill intent, but is the one in the night that you should fear, for with sharp aim will deliver a present, so you give her a final breath for her to hold dear. No steady discipline can match my will for a Tangle the lemur build from Sir Tulok (please?) so in contrary to this widowed fem fatale I don’t need that neural reconditioning, gentlemen, now if y- *run away Amélie Guillard was a talented ballet dancer, married with Gérard Lacroix, an agent against the evil organization of Talon, who saw on her the Achilles heel they needed to kill their target, a sleeping agent who broken by the thirst of killing went to her torturers to become the blue skinned marksman that make everyone watch respectfully their murderer as they respawn.
Hey, I think this is the first time True Strike isn't used as a way to talk about an issue with the community, wich I thinks it means we've gotten rid of all the jerks in the comments! ...right?
Just saw the stats, guessing bard rogue? Lets check back after watching the video . EDit: Dang, warlock. Thought the ballet thing was gonna make it bard.
In 5e, what would be the best Omniclass build if level capping was taken off? I know It doesn't matter since eventually you’ll just have LV 20 in every class, but: This is just for fun. Try and think of this from the POV of an OCD player who, by compulsion, HAS to maximize their player build as much as possible, slowly going through said very long campaign (Think multiple premade campaigns, settings and one shots strung together through an interconnected storyline that the DM artificially jacks up the difficulty on) which practically forces them to Omniclass but their still going to be crunching away harder than they need to at what order to take the classes in, which subclasses to take, which race, feats, and background to take, which spells to take, which feats, which skills to invest in, etc., etc.
Tulok, I don't know if you've skipped the Overwatch 2 Train, but man. You'd make my life if you did a Junker Queen build. She's got a pretty loaded kit and the way I've tried building her feels a bit off-key.
This can't be the first request but, have you considered any characters from the Song of Ice and Fire (the books)? I'd like your take on Jamie Lannister or Khal Drogo.
Pre watch guess: Heavy Crossbow build? If this isn't that, has Tulok done one before? Artificer and enhanced Hexblade make it work, but I do want to see a viable "Heavy Crossbow specialist/No magic/Minimal Melee" build. Widowmaker will probably get some kind of magic. Alright, watching the video now.
Wow, Tulok being an SJW. Must be a day that ends in Y. Also, I guess Violet Beauregarde would also be Custom Lineage if you ever build her at any point.
