I was struggling to understand the digital version of this game on steam even with their tutorial game. You've just clarified it SO much. An excellent tutorial thank you!

Like some have already said, thank you so much! I picked up the digital Steam version when it went on sale and felt like I was dropped into the middle of the ocean - the in game tutorial didn't make any sense to me and I was learning by trial and error till I found this video.
If you don't mind paying for the computer version of the game (my board game came with a 30% off coupon for use on Steam, but it's $25 full price), there is a tutorial on the game and I also found the game play to be ideal for learning the game. The only thing that would have made it better is that when you activate powers on your bird cards, the computer doesn't stop to explain why you are doing what you are doing, it just tells you to lay eggs, or draw cards or whatever action you are supposed to take. If you forget that you activated powers on your cards, you might get a little confused as to why the computer is prompting you to do these things. Same thing with the bird cards that are activated when played, the computer will just prompt you to take whatever reward you get when the card is played without explaining that it's because that card was played. If I recall correctly, if you have a predatory bird like a hawk or an eagle that gets activated, it will explain that you need to draw a card and if that card is underneath a certain wingspan size then you can tuck that card underneath the hawk or eagle.
Wingspan's really not that complicated, but this video dumps _way_ too much information, way too fast. I find this explanation hard to follow, and I _know_ the rules like the back of my hand. If you have any interest left in Wingspan, I'd highly recommend you check out Rodney Smith's tutorial on his channel _Watch It Played._ It's how I learned how to play Wingspan, and I think you'll find it a lot easier to follow as well.
