these kinda are how to beats, knowing how they play and how they can be punished is the simplest method to beating a character. Kinda like, this video shows the combos for wolf, their range and what the best ones to pull off are, the Likelihood is players who play wolf can will use these combos effectively, but players who do not main him would be easily punished based on what was shown in this video.
Two things you haven't mentioned: soft nair is unsafe on-hit at 0% and down b as invincibility frames which makes it an option to stop combos or juggling situations.
“If you’re a seasoned wolf player, you’re probably not watching this video.” Except I’m a seasoned Zelda player, yet I watch every video I can. Maybe someone’s found something I haven’t.
I recently started playing wolf and he was one of those characters that I clicked with. I don’t like to look at guides to help with gameplay, as I like to learn things myself, but this guide wasn’t bad. Keep up the good work you choccy boi 👍
We love star wolfs from super smash bros melee and brawl and ultimate yeah because they are awesome and the best and the greatest and amazing and all ways wicked and funny and hilarious and brilliant and lovable and mischievous and vengeful and crazy and good and bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
I can’t tell you how many times I self destructed just with the side B. He’s a hard character for me to get down, but I really want to main him. I used to main all the Links, Little Mac (punch out nostalgia tho!), and Roy but they all got boring. Wolf seems very enjoyable though.
on some lower percentages it can also go backthrow into up angled side-b (sadly, that wont spike though, so it cant be used for flashy last stock kills)
Wolfs down B is good to interupt combos im no pro but it really helps if youve been knocked in the air. Iv also noticed that the short hop is really popular with a lot of players so the wolf flash is a nice counter.
Two things you missed were that wolf’s blaster has 3 hit boxes but only the two you mentioned are more likely to hit The 3 hit boxes are 1: for pulling out the blaster 2: for shooting it and 3: the blaster going upwards after the shot The other thing you missed is that when you tilt the stick up during wolf’s side B he goes less far then not tilting the stick and tilting the stick down Also if you’re about to get punished, do down B. The quick startup will most likely hit the opponent and you can escape without a scratch. Two more things before you stop reading this comment Down tilt and f throw at ledge at around 30 40 for lights and mediums and 45 50 60 for heavyweights can let you get a free spike with down air if your opponent immediately jumps. Last thing is that up B is a really good kill move because even if your opponent shields it, the multi-hit and power is really likely to kill. I know he mentioned some of these but I still wanted to say it.
13:34 hmm, so a forward air pushes the opponent forward while an up air brings them upward All jokes aside this was a great vid hopefully when I get a switch I'll be ready but i will most likely fighting my little brother so it won't be too hard
Probably incineroar because he was my first starter and I'm pretty good at him because my friends have a switch, so we played together during lunch at school
two things to mention: wolf's reflector is a good combo breaker down throw can setup an easy kill at low percentages for most characters. down throw by the ledge, wolf flash angled down. it'll kill you but if you're even in stocks or ahead it's good. also you will always die second which means you are invincible when you respawn and you can potentially get a bit of damage off before your invincibility wears off. the best percentage for this down throw wolf flash combo is usually around 40% - 60%, but I try to go for it around 52-55%
everybody is just saying things you missed or correcting you but nobody is talking about how you mentioned wolf hitting fox from behind and knocking him up
Thanks Choct for makin this, I'm grateful for you showing up in my recommendations, I've been trying to get good with this character, quick question, which controller would you recommend when using this character ?
Enclave Remnant I use an original GameCube controller for Smash because it’s what I’m used to, but it’s preference. GC controllers also are the most optimal.
So if you are going to do a stage builder from shared content I would love it if you did mine the code is c6kqn44x Edit: It's called get in my belly and the premise is you get your opponent in the pictochat guys mouth.
After watching choctopus and jtails for the past few months I've come to really not like jtails. The guy basically wants everyone to play the way he says no dash dancing, only this, only that. While Choctopus just wants you to have fun. The no dash dancing thing is kinda dumb I get the melee style of rapidly moving back in forth in what looks like maybe 3 frames of animation is pointless but moving in and out to try and bait a move is a strategy but apparently he doesn't get that and I wonder if he falls for dash dancing all the time so thats why he hates it? I don't know. I just know I like choctopus more.
Wait why’s isn’t the blaster in melee range good? The move u compared it too did less damage and didn’t stun. (I’m kinda new to smash btw sry if I don’t get something obvious)
Wolf is one of my five Super Smash Bros. Ultimate mains, alongside Fox, Falco, Marth and Roy. Not to mention Starfox is one of my favorite franchises in Smash and Nintendo franchise in general. Alongside Fire Emblem and Pokemon.
Wolf's down through can combo into his side b at medium percentage (your damage matters too and can change the angles, so you'll have to just get a good feel for the weight of your opponent and both or your damage percentage). I'm the only person I've ever seen use this and I know it can be inconsistent but it is a kill confirm done by the ledge because it spikes and even if it doesnt it will still likely get the kill off the side and it is super satisfying when it works. You will die afterwards if down off the ledge so you may want an extra stock but even without the extra stock i think it does keep you in the advantage at least mentally and worth it. His other throws may combo too but never tried it.
