I've seen another groomer use regular tweezers and was very gentle and got the job done without hurting the dog and the dog had a copious about of hair she took her time dog was fine no incident its all in the way you approach it. Gentle is the key and regular tweezers. If you would like I can give you her utube channel so u can click on her video 😊

How long have you been grooming? That's a very nice job on the Schnauzer. I have seen some horrible haircuts on them. I should say most I have seen have been bad but bravo on the excellent job you did.

I saw some comments in other videos about the excessive amount of shampoo you use and I will have to agree...I subscribe to numerous groomer channels and no one else uses anywhere close to that amount of shampoo. Seems like it wud make more sense to wash a few times then to keep pouring globs of shampoo on top of shampoo!! You get the cutest dogs... hopefully one day I'll come back and be pleasantly surprised by improved equipment, video and audio. Are you aware we can't see what you're doing half the time? Im new to this channel so I keep watching videos hoping it improves....

So, the shampoo is diluted in water so it’s not pure shampoo and certainly not globes lol. I actually use more water than shampoo that is why it lathers so well. I learned to do a proper bath when I first started grooming and pride myself on how clean my dogs get so they smell good not just the day they go home but weeks after. So, if you’re watching people who don’t do proper baths then I would wonder how long the dog smells like it was just groomed and how well that dog is actually clean. But maybe you prefer your dogs half clean. Some people don’t care. I’m not one of those groomers tho. Thank you for your feedback, I always appreciate what everyone has to say 🙏🏾🥰

Could her ear problem have been prevented if the owner had taken care of the problem sooner? She is a very cute dog.. you should talk to the owner about changing her diet. Alot of yeast problems are caused by a dog's diet.

Yes, getting her groomed would definitely prevent the hair from building so heavily. Dora has passed away since this video. It’s very sad because she wasn’t that old.

No, Petsmart is where I learned to groom. When I went to grooming academy, one of the teachers there bred and showed standard schnauzers and all we did was work on her schnauzers and the puppies

I can tell you are being gentle here because I know the powder dries it out but omg I've watched groomers use a tool and twist to pull out a big chung of hair and it looked painful...though I'm sure she knew what she was doing.

Well, what I will say, if a dog’s ear hair is matted, hemostats is the way to go to get the hair out. Probably the only way to go to get it out. Though I do not like plucking ears and I really don’t like using hemostats to do it, I have done it before because it is the only way to do it because the hair is matted so far down. Yes it is painful but that is why we use the ear powder to lesson the pain. Some dogs ears get really red after plucking matted ears and some dogs ears bleed, I’ve seen a lot but if they go to the vet to get it done, they’re gonna do the same thing the groomer does. Sometimes a little more rougher.

Some owners like their schnauzers beard short and round and some like them long so I don’t blame you for wanting it short. It’s definitely not unheard of.

Please please get a GO PRO and strap it to your head and a quality microphone.. WE CAN'T SEE and the audio is poor!!!!! The footage is frustrating Im literally on my couch raising my head trying to reach the view so I can see!!! Lol. Tried other videos of yours and was hoping things improved but unfortunately they're all like this. Godbless you for the work you do but as a viewer, super frustrating!!

Well, when using the proper tools, dematting doesn’t have to be painful. Also, schnauzers keep their beards. It is breed standards so I don’t mind brushing out a few mats. I know how to properly brush out a mat so I ensure I don’t hurt the dog. If I feel like it is too dangerous I won’t brush it out.

If you’re using ear powder, the correct amount, and pulling out the proper hair, it actually doesn’t hurt. That’s why I pull out as little as possible. She also doesn’t mind the ear plucking and some dogs actually enjoy it lol

The powder actually numbs the ears.... I've seen, in the past... with no powder or very little, then start pulling, you hear the dog crying. I'm not a groomer nor do I have a dog due to my previous work schedule, although I do adore them. ... I just enjoy watching now that I'm retired, I find it relaxing

Yes I’ve seen some groomers pluck the ears with no ear powder as well. I try and make sure I put a lot of powder in there ears. The powder drys out the ear and the hair in the ears so it makes it easier to pluck. It almost makes it like picking a cotton ball apart or plucking the shedding hair out the coat. Super easy and little to no pain. Now, what I will say, if the dog has mats in the ear, no matter how much ear powder you put in the ear it’s still gonna hurt because the mat is further than the powder can reach but it still has to be removed because mats in the ears lead to ear infections. So, I’m that case you will hear the dog cry because mats being removed from the ear is painful. Schnauzers don’t have tails due to breed standards. They are suppose to have long tails to they doc the tails when they’re like 3wks old. Young enough where they don’t even remember it or truly understand pain.
