Thanks for posting. After some research, I spoke with Comet and they reiterated some of your points including the 1/2 hose for the discharge line and 3/4" for the distribution line. I found it interesting that there are three oil reservoirs so users should ensure all three have proper oil levels. If I were you, I would post links to the items you purchased. I've been trying to find a 3/4" 200' 600 PSI chemical tube for the past couple of days and have been having trouble. One company yesterday told me it would be about $1200. Nozzle's and appropriate fittings to ensure the full 11 GPM and a chart with an overview of what effect the distance of the hose has on the PSI and GPM would be useful also. I have one application at a large movie theater and am worried that I won't be able to reach the top of the building without using some kind of extension wand or lift and, in the past, using a lift significantly affected the water pressure when up 30 or 40 feet or more.

I use a "bypass tank". instead of running 25' of hose just run it in and out of a 10 gallon tank. Much safer, easier and a good piece of mind.

Great Video! I wish the larger mixer valves were available when I was getting into the soft wash industry(probably were just hard to find). I love those motor and pump setups! The AG industry has been using them for decades treating lawns and pest control. I got the best option available at the time which was a 1hp booster and proportioner from the power wash store which is way undersized mixing valve system with 1/2" GF valves(should only be used for soap). Once the boosters wear out I'm defiantly switching to gas pumps. Question; Have you tried running a 1" hose for your bypass line instead of the 1/2"? It would give you more water volume/less friction which should make the pump run cooler on your down time. A accumulator tank would help a lot too on the bypass line. The more water it has to circulate the cooler the pump will run.
@bluecollarentrepreneur3377
@bluecollarentrepreneur3377 2 года назад
I have not tried a 1” bypass. Never thought of it since the pump comes with a 1/2 barb for the bypass. However I do like the accumulator tank idea. The same original pump is still working today. We’ve had to make some small minor repairs but other than that the pump is still running strong everyday.

@bluecollarentrepreneur3377
@bluecollarentrepreneur3377 Год назад
The bypass goes back to your proportioner. A check valve can go anywhere in between those points. I’ve seen them right on the bypass of the pump or attached right to the proportioner
@deanweingarth5120
@deanweingarth5120 Год назад
@@bluecollarentrepreneur3377 What i'm looking to do is use my 12v for small groundwork jobs and backup if needed. Right now my 12v pump hose has a banjo cam lock disconnect to the outlet of the proportioner. I want to use the P40 primarily as a roof pump so I can install the same cam lock on the line feeding the P40. This way all I have to do is disconnect the 12v and connect the p40 on that proportioner output. I also have a 3 way valve after the 12v so I can either feed the hose reel, or switch to a dump hose for flushing and rinsing my trailer down if I get chems on it. My thought is to tee the P40 bypass into the hose that will feed the P40 and install a check valve before the T so there's no backfeed.
@bluecollarentrepreneur3377
@bluecollarentrepreneur3377 Год назад
@@deanweingarth5120 well you have some other variables to consider here. The proportioner for the P40 needs a minimum of 3/4 valves, but preferably 1”. So if your current proportioner is smaller than that it won’t work. Next, I highly suggest not using a cam lock on the intake side of the P40. The death of gas diaphragm pumps is air. A cam lock could be an easy access point for air, plus every time you disconnect it you might have to deal with priming the P40, which can be a pain if you don’t do it right. My opinion, give the 12V and P40 their own proportioner and feed them to the same reel on your trailer. Just put a 3-way valve and you can select if you want to select the 12V outlet or the P40 outlet. That my personal opinion. But to be honest once you get the feel for the P40 and know how to use it, you probably won’t be touching the 12V too much
@deanweingarth9586
@deanweingarth9586 Год назад
@@bluecollarentrepreneur3377 I appreciate the input. As far as prime, the cam lock would not be near the p40 pump, but rather up higher and a 3 ft away at the proportioner so not concerned about that. If I do lose prime I can use the washoff dump line to reprime with clean water. Now the size of the proportioner is a different story but I can build a new proportioner at the larger size and just swap the smaller size out. I keep all your info in mind and thank you!

@bluecollarentrepreneur3377
@bluecollarentrepreneur3377 Месяц назад
@@robertdelucia6305 a mean it’s a valid question. There are 2 main problems. 1) You would need the tank to feed back into the system otherwise it would just overflow. 2) The problem with feeding that buffer tank back into the system is that the buffer tank would then fill with the type of solution you are spraying. So if you are spray a chemical solution and let off the trigger, the tank then fill with a chemical solution. Well what happens when you switch to water? The system would then be adding a chemical solution back into the system when you’re trying to spray fresh water. It just makes the plumbing much more complicated and not worth the headache

@@HumbleBeast777 yes in theory the bigger the hose you run the more flow you will get. That is why we run 5/8 instead of 1/2. However I personally think 3/4 is excessive and wouldn’t be fun to drag around all day. But remember at the end of the day if you run 3/4 but run it through a standard reel you aren’t going to gain much flow because the restriction of the swivel. So if you do want 3/4 flow you will need a 1” reel and swivel.

It would be great if you could diagram it out and have it on your website.
