what's up y'all. This how we plumb up our equipment slabs. we took off for new years so i needed a video to fill in so here you go.
we used all pentair equipment for all of our swimming.
We use sch40 pvc for everything. Presure fitting aswell
Depending on the pool size and whats in it it rake a out 1 hour to plumb ip the slab.
We’ve gotten to a point in the business that have jesus do our plumbing is way for feasible, then hiring an employee to take on that even though it wouldn’t take much it still works out good for us.
On this pool we are installing a salt system as well so ill show you how we do that.
Every part of how we plumb our pads up is ver specific. It is taking a lot of years of working with maintenance guys our own knowledge and understanding pool equipment to get where we are now to create the most optimized efficient, swimming pool pad.
Drop your questions below and enjoy!

Great video - not a project that I will need to do but I appreciate the time taken to show the entire process clearly and to voice over the explanation of what is being done. I have watch a couple of your videos and can confidently say that you are what is known as 'good people'.

Question if the pool is 10,000 why not oversize the filter maybe with 320sq ft cartridge filter

Hey Jonathan, We've got an inground concrete pool and spa with two pumps - one for the pool and one for the spa. Our pool holds 30,000 gallons. We've stopped using the spa and the heater altogether. The issue is with the water, as it still runs through the spa and heater even though they're not in use. What can be a solution for this problem? Is it possible to have a plumber come out and replumb everything without digging or filling in the spa for this summer?
@jonport_
@jonport_ 4 месяца назад
Yeah i would have the plumber redo it. Are the lines to the spa on a separate supply? If so it should be easy enough to cap those lines, reroute everything to just run the pool
@randall928
@randall928 Месяц назад
Should this also have a heater bypass?
@jonport_
@jonport_ Месяц назад
No. If don’t want the heater running you just shut it off and everything runs the same.

I see you put the sacrificial anode between the pump and filter, which is what I've seen everyone else do also and assume this was correct, but my inspector is telling me it has to be below grade level before the pump to always have a constant water supply. Have you ever heard of this? It sounds stupid because how am I supposed to get it to replace the anode later.
@jonport_
@jonport_ 19 дней назад
Yes that is dumb. You have to put a union value just for when you change it🤦‍♂️. I didn’t know that would be a thing. I font think anyone dose that
@jonport_
@jonport_ 19 дней назад
Every inspector has his own way. At the end of the day. Realistically your pool is running 24/7 so the way we do it its covered. They do make other bonding defenders. Some make work better if you have to do that I’m not sure since i dont have to

I don't understand the 18" riser from pump to filter. Can you answer this?

Thanks for the reply Jonathon, If you get the chance please find out the why from the maintenance guys. This is kind of a "gots to know" thing for me now...Haha@@jonport_
@latroncheffin1916
@latroncheffin1916 2 месяца назад
There is no answer. It is suppose to stop the filter from back flowing empty. But if you do that with some filters being tall your riser will be tall. Most filters have a 90 inside any. You could always just add a check instead.

The pump specifies that you should not have an elbow within 10 inches of the pump. There is a calculation based on pipe diameter…for instance 2inch x 5 =10. I could be making this crap up, so read pump instructions 🤣
@jonport_
@jonport_ 7 дней назад
@jperello001 lol. Your right. It’s within that range just for pressure and keeping your pump so it doesn’t wear and tear on it as much.

Can the pool equipment be mounted on a ground level deck?

Ground level meaning the same height as the top of the pool deck?

@jonport_
@jonport_ 22 дня назад
@@troybonham9829 code doesn’t matter. Its all about efficiency and how you design your pad so it works well depending on how high or low you put it. But if it is pretty much level with the top of the pool, you shouldn’t have any issues or do anything special just follow what I’m doing.

The one thing I do not like is the use of ball valves which tend to wear down much quicker and hard to replace compare to other valves so I am highly against using ball valves in general
@jonport_
@jonport_ 2 месяца назад
I understand where you’re coming from but these valves man they last a long time and they are nice. Plus the benefits you get of having them so easily replaceable because they’re threaded on both sides.

Yea if course lol. I figured it went with out saying. The video would be too long. Also we use a clear primer so it doesn’t stain anything and look cleaner.
