How To Polish Houseplant Leaves (Rubber Plant)

In this video I go through step by step the best process of cleaning plant leaves to get the leaves as shiny as possible. As well as greatly improving the look of the plant this also keeps the plant healthy as it removes dust which overtime will block light from reaching the leaf. It also helps the plant to breathe more efficiently and so can clean your air more effectively and convert more carbon dioxide to oxygen. For a more extreme shine leaf shine can also be used in conjunction with regular cleaning and polishing.
This cleaning technique works best on plants with large leathery leaves such as rubber plant, swiss cheese plant, fiddle-leaf fig, etc.

Just wrap the pots bottom with a trash bag and run the leaves in the shower or water hole outside...simple

Some of my plants are too large to be lifted easily and our water has a lot of minerals, so if I do that, the plants end up spotted.

It can in high levels, it blocks out the light which causes the plants to become weak and slower growing. It can also block the stomata reducing the o2 and co2 transfer of the leaf, which can slow growth or damage the leaf.
