A great technique! I have a time saving tip to share as well. If you keep your quilting safety pins in a container and are always used for basting, do not close them as they are removed from the quilt. You no longer spend time closing pins OR opening them the next time they are used. Not opening 100+ pins is a time saver.

Oh good idea! If I didn't have a tiny helper who enjoys putting my pins back in the jar I would totally do this. That would save so much time.

Thank you for your tips on pool noodle basting. This was very helpful. Due to a knee injury, I’m not able to get down in the floor to tape my layers and pin baste them.

Hello I am new at quilting. I hope soon to start a quilt. I would have never thought of doing it that way. I have been wondering about the ending of making a quilt how would I go about putting it together. I am so happy I got to see this how to video clip of you doing it this way. Because I would have been lost at the beginning of even trying it some other way. How is it stretched after you do all that penning together? Thank You 🥰

Welcome to quilting, it's a very enjoyable hobby. You're going to love it. I'm so happy my video helped you. The quilt isn't really stretched, it's just smoothed out flat which the noodle method really helps to do. Just continue to make sure everything is smooth as you pin. I often will run my hand over the top as I go just to be extra sure. My free motion quilting video and how to bind a quilt video should also help.
