Hopefully you guys enjoyed and learned something new! Now that the intake manifold is ready to go, I just have to assemble the engine and get it ready to go in the car! If you would like to support the channel, you can do so by liking, subscribing and checking out the merch at www.blowmotorclub.com Thanks for watching and I'll see you guys in the engine assembly video :)

I believe you don't want to blend the port dividers at the end of the runners, they are designed that way so the pulse wave resonance does not negatively effect the adjacent runner. Ideally you want a gap between each bellmouth so one port is not sucking air out of an adjacent one. Smoothing the inlet runner tubes is probably fine, but otherwise I think you have probably made that manifold worse overall. There is also an optimum runner cross-sectional area to match the valve throat area, this is how you flow the most air as a thinner column of air will gain more kinetic energy and ram in more just before the valve closes, this is especially effective in variable valve timing/lift heads. Runner length and plenum volume is also tuned for optimal performance across the rev range. Match the ports, not to the gasket, remove the minimum amount of material. If you don't understand Helmholtz resonance and such, just don't mess around with things and most likely make them worse. Read David Vizard's publications on optimum inlet runner taper angles and bellmouth radius to diameter ratio... before hacking into your extensively developed and designed manifold. You can improve on a product mass produced down to a price, but not by trying to completely redesign it in this case, just clean up casting flash and such.

Mark the legend showing how it’s done! Good video and of course you have one of the best teachers showing you how to do it.

That idea of running the new motor NA first is absolute genius. With the issues you’ve had in the past, it just makes perfect sense to iron out the engine in NA mode.

Good job, John!!! I hate porting as much as I hate bodywork. 😂 I just pay people to do it.

The knock off I got has much better casting now. The airhorns look just like an authentic one. Only had to smooth some flash with sanding rolls.

What kind of cams are you running on your built motor ? If stock you should definitely upgrade.. the b series vtec engagement isn’t as strong as let’s say an H series but if you get cams you might feel it a little more

I was running b16 cams. I upgraded to GSR cams and saw like 40hp gain at the same boost level. Pretty nice.

Without cutting, err rotary files do cut… so where is the no cutting part? Was expecting extrude hone or something else.

“Cutting” meaning when you have to cut the plenum open on a traditional one piece manifold.

Say no to knife edging intake ports like NASCAR, super karts, MotoGP, Rally, Formula 1, Lemans, etc

"Witout cutting or welding" ok john.. go grab a b16 manifold and port it for me without cutting and rewelding. And I mean runners ported and knife edged.. Anyone can port a manifold with a removable plenum. Stupid clickbait title..
@Lokomart
@Lokomart 2 года назад
The title is exactly what he is showing. You could just as easily go grab a Skunk2 ultra B16 manifold. It’s pretty easy to do the porting yourself. Just one bit of advice, don’t knife edge the runners. The incoming air charge is traveling 90* to the runners. Smooth is the effect good porting should net, higher velocity with as little turbulence as possible.
