“Labeling has an immense power to shape people’s lives.” Your words, Sir, are simple yet so impactful. When you slow down and really think about that, it stirs you from within.

This is one your best immediately and constructively useful videos I have watched. I can’t wait to be more positive with everyone in my life helping them feel understood and happier about who they are and then still be able to help them feel positive while they work on themselves. What a lock you have opened.🎉

You are correct Mark to not use the Glib Reframe,,, Thank you 🙏 so much for this video. I just realized every therapist, councilor n others are still invalidating n belittling everything I say. True 16 years ago coming home from Afghanistan therapist said my self confidence was fine that wound festered until I could not speak up for myself for nothing, true today as the majority of therapists still tell me I’m doing fine despite me saying I am not doing fine. Until you published this video giving me new hopeful information which explains why,,, the intent to reframe my state of mind, intended to motivate,,, actually invalidates. The glib reframe meant to motivate actually invalidates. Thank you 🙏 for your time and effort Mark Tyrrell.

"can our clients become less sure that they're as defective as they've been led by themselves and others to believe'' this statement really impacted on me as for the past 3 years I've dealt with a supervisor who put so much doubt in my abilities. I realise that it's not me, it's her.

One of my main and enduring (and terribly inconvenient) personality traits is: being scared of flying (and being extremely risk adverse in general when I perceive a theat to life, despite how irrational it may be). This has impacted my life in many ways, preventing me from seeing family members I love any often, and getting in the way of my development in sports, which is also something I love. Now, I've just reframed this trait as " I care a lot about being alive and ensuring my life continues ". Let's see how it goes from it.

Brilliant!!! SO ENCOURAGING!! plus it’s given me a general shift in how to think. I really like that Milton quote at the end. Some good dose of humility is helpful to shift us from being convinced that we right about something even something negative about ourselves

Thanks Mark, do you have any therapists in Western Australia who have trained with you? Your compassionate nature and explanations are important and helping me out of my head and my obsessive behaviour in psychopathologising my whole existence. Im exhausted. I want change.
