Nice job sir ! I wish i couled do it like this in northern Sweden =( 250 gallon (aprox 1000 liter) concrete costs like 200 dollas here, and before that we need to put 3 inch of cellplastic insulation under it all with 3 inch spacing between 1/2 inch thick rebars. So here we only use concrete as fundation under and in buildings =) Love your vids keep em coming

@Agnelum1
@Agnelum1 6 лет назад
These videos are awesome. I find it interesting that you "flood" the ground to let it soak up the water and expand before you pour. I would think that now you reverse the problem from being a risk of moving/cracking the concrete due to expansion if there is a heavy deluge of water and the ground had been left dry, to risk of moving/cracking the concrete when the ground dries out again after being saturated?
@OdellCompleteConcrete
@OdellCompleteConcrete 6 лет назад
Nothing will happen because the ground is already expanded and concrete is poured to the bottom with steel in it as well.

Odell Complete Concrete, you and your guys do a great job, thx for the videos, I'm all done with concrete for the winter here in upstate NY so watching your videos is nice during the long cold season. It's always nice to see how other people do it because you can never stop learning, up here we do allot of finishing old school, edging by hand not with a pole, hit it by hand with knee boards on everything. And how you split this pour in half and had a form in the middle for a guide to screed off of seems way less complicated. We always run a string line across or use a Lazer for height down the center, drive steel pins down and put tape or sharpie to the height and make a wet screed down the center and screed down each side. I've been with a few different companies and just seems like we do everything the hard way lol. Anyway good job and look forward to more videos ✌️

What is the fiber and magnesium use for? I have an 60' X 18' driveway that is already 25 year old concert and may need to be replace due to cracking and moving up in some areas. I am thinking on getting another motorhome that weights 40,000 LBS. What is your recommendation? Fiber, rebar, magnesium, etc....? Thanks in advance

Pardon again for a noob question. I was reading up on rebar and stumbled by chance onto basalt rebar. It appears to have the major advantage of not interacting with chemicals or water. There seem to be even preconstructed mesh grids, in addition to cut fiber filaments that can be added to concrete. Any comments on those type of things?

Hey david,what would be the pros cons of wet cut joint opposed to saw cut? Thanks
@OdellCompleteConcrete
@OdellCompleteConcrete 4 года назад
I think saw cuts are a cleaner, straighter, easier to roll or walk over. Wet hand cut joints saves you another day, and a lot of concrete dust, slurry.

Why did you cut the driveway in to that pattern? Does it serve a purpose or is it just for decoration?

Why didn't you cut at every saw cut that meets the band on the driveway? I was wondering if the "L" shape at the bottom right will crack.
