I haven't had time to work with the waves yet. I tried it with some original testing and wasn't happy with it but the product has since changed. I'm thinking the best bet would be to use the PolyKote Pro and the Savage Patriot Brilliant White tint. I'll try it soon.

You definitely could use sand but you would have to use a lot more more product on top of it to smooth it out. I just use epoxy paste/pigments and spray paint on mostly beaches. This one was a little bit different because they wanted a gray sand beach so I primed that area with the color gray that I wanted and I use the granite effect spray paint to create the speckles like you would see in sand. I lightly sanded that to knockdown the high spots before continuing on. It's only clear over that section.

For the waves I use Colour Obsession Snow White

Actually I use Diamond Cote from Just Resin for the waves but I'm soon going to try it with a polyaspartic as well.

The whole place was under construction and there was plastic sheeting all around us so I couldn't stand any further back. But it looked awesome!

It's about the weight or thickness of the material. So when you wait that 15 minutes, it thickens up a bit and then holds the celling when you push it over the clear. Otherwise it will flow and try and self level and you'll lose your cells. That's also why I use Diamond Cote by Just Resin for waves...it sets up faster and is thicker so I don't need to wait as long.

Yes with 220 grit. I always want to ensure that there will be a good mechanical bond and be able to sand out any dust or imperfections

I use several for the water such as Lagoon, Metallic Cobalt Blue and Seaside.

Yes, I do sand with 220 every time before I start the next layer. It also allows me to sand down the highs and lows and make it a little bit more level before starting another layer.

I use Just Resin’s Diamond Coat for the waves only. Put the clear down and let it set up about 10 minutes while the white set up in the cup. Then do your waves.
