And its game time! Walls are formed and braced, inspections passed, everything triple checked twice and we are ready to place concrete. We used a boom pump this time to speed up the process a little. The operator was a great guy to talk to. Always take the time to learn from everyone.
Please remember that I'm not showing the best way to form footings, but just the method that works well for us. Thanks for watching!
Oh and another takeaway, if you use a drone for commercial work, you need to be part107 certified. Commercial work includes social media like RU-vid if you plan to make an income off of that. I watched a video about this last May and then purchased the Part 107 Course sso.teachable.com/secure/2458... I studied and learned for 1 month and then took my test. I scored a 95%, which is a testament to how good Greg and the crew over there teach. That link will save you $100 off the course and support this channel.

I see the real boss showed up to make sure the job was going according to plans. Thanks for training the apprentices in forming and placing concrete in the form correctly.

Looks great! Thanks for these videos! Super informative to us carpenters who find ourselves expanding skills to get projects in the ground.

Great job ! I always fill the sills from one side only until it runs to the other side. No voids!

Great music and intro music. Can I give a tip for the step downs, we use well plates for them. It’s basically a horizontal piece of ply or beam or whatever is around, of about two feet that’s on the bottom of the step. It makes it harder for the concrete to spill out. I also make little holes in them like you did on the window in the previous video

Having never used a concrete vibrator...as an outsider looking in, I foresee a harness for it like the pump operator has, there by freeing up one hand. I can only imagine how heavy that vibrator gets after a couple hours of holding it. Great content!!👍👍

If I recall you guys use a concrete mix with pea gravel for when you are using a line pump; do you think a cordless vibrator has sufficient output for a more traditional concrete mix with larger aggregate? We normally rent one that is provided by the batch plant, but the last 2 pours they have forgotten to bring it out at first and we end up waiting on it while concrete is getting stiff…. Don’t really want to invest in a full size one when we only do a few foundations a year and cordless would be handy if it actually works. Thoughts?

Looks like western Washington maybe Bremerton/ Port Orchard with those slopes.

I have a question about the forms. For example, if a wall is 16' long and you use two eight foot panels how do you overlap the corners with the perpendicular wall and retain 16'? Don't you loose an inch and an eight in wall length where you butt one panel to the perpendicular panel? Seems like you would also loose 1-1/2" in length at each step of stepped stem wall when you insert a 2x8 in between panels.

I do formwork for a living in Australia and we form walls that thick with a lot more timber than you did. What system is that you're using? It looks much more efficient than how do it?

Pretty smart use of the joists for bracing the panels. Is that a leftover from a previous job or will that end up in someone's floor? Haha good stuff pumping walls is a piece of cake.

Amazing. I am just shocked at the minutes amount of bracing on the exterior form walls at the front elevation.

It is superior in my opinion. Fast to form, minimal stripping and ready for drywall.

Man that is a wired pour from my point of view. Why don't you just rent Ellis style forms? Pour to the top and move forward. That back and forth isn't reducing pressure anywhere. You have to move away from those gates style forms. There isn't a way to engineer the loads with random lumber.
