Warning: overpowering your 12v winch with 18v or 20v can burn up your motor and ruin your winch. Please use discretion.
This hack does work. Originally I tried buying a 20v to 12v converter that output 12v 15 amps but it was unable to power the winch so I just tried a direct hookup to the battery. The winch does run a lot a lot faster on 20v than it does on 12v but that could be a bad thing I’m not sure yet. Please if you are trying this make sure you connect the red wire from the winch to the battery connection that reads B+ and connect the black negative cable from the winch to the battery connection that reads B- I am
using this winch to roll up my inflatable water slide from Big and Bright Inflatables that has modified tow straps under it from The Jump off. This technique is good for solo setups and will help save your back from manually rolling a 300lb slide.

I was thinking about doing the same thing, I saw that you posted this about 6 months ago. Just wondering, after 6 months have you burnt anything up yet?
