Brenda, thanks so much for this. After a 40 year career in healthcare I retired last year. I decided to get back in to music as a hobby. I was stunned to find out no one wants an old guy who can’t play in their band.😄 this app is perfect for what I need to get back in shape. Thanks for sharing!
I'm so glad you found value in it! If you ever want lessons, let me know! I teach privately via Zoom and I have a suite of online courses designed to teach you all of the skills you need to be an old guy who CAN play in their band! www.pianoandvoicewithbrenda.com
I'm a guitar player trying to get into jazz (again 😅) after around 15yrs of playing rock/blues and acoustic. This was a super video and exactly what I needed. Thanks!
Thank you Brenda. I attended a wonderful Christmas sing-a -long and couldn't help feeling envious of the wonderful piano player who was using and understanding all the chords as he played the accompaniment to all the songs. On his piano was his iPad with iReal Pro showing all the chords. I asked him about the app and he helped me download it. I have a long way to go to be able to play the chords as well as he does, but I will be working on that goal. I also just took a voice class and I can tell this app can help with that also! Thank you! Lori
Your video remind me my 30year old Yamaha keyboard can have nearly the same function. It‘s the most precious gift I have in my childhood!I can play the automatic accompaniment with different style day and night❤
There IS a way to give singers tonal context when starting a song in iRealPro. Highlight the bar you want to start in. That could be the last bar of the song or the first of the last 4 bars of the song. It’s a way to hear an intro into the chorus (the song form).
Thank you very much! I look forward to practicing using the app. I have had it for a while and have not used it to its fullest potential. :) You are a wonderful teacher! 🎉
Hi Brenda, Roberto from your class group. Loved this tutorial. I have iReal pro but don't use it very much, now I'm dying to put it to work for me. All the different ways you just mentioned to use it. Great class, great tutorial. Till next zoom class, Adios, hasta luego.
Very informative. Heading off to a jazz weekend in a few days where the musicians use it to play along ...if you are a singer you can quickly set the chords for your backing group to use.
@@PianoandVoicewithBrenda Not find it so easy to navigate around initially...at least on a tablet. Did use it today to get charts and transpose to a better key to sing My baby just cares for me, accompanied by a pianist during g jazz weekend. Need to read up more and watch videoes
Thanks for sharing your ideas. I like your teaching style. I’m an early intermediate piano player and am inspired to use this app to help my practice and technique.
You're going to love it! Check out this video if you want some ideas on how you can practice with it. I use it a LOT with my students ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eEEttTrHGWI.html
Thank you this detailed lesson on how to use iReal Pro. I bought this app many years ago when I was learning piano, but didn’t know how make full use of it. I have just rediscovered that App now that I’m learning guitar. Your lesson has been really helpful. Following from Australia 👍🤩🦘
Garageband does all of this but is maybe too complex for some. I guess that's the target. One can lay down fairly quickly a backing track in Garage Band and just mute tracks and or loop a part and practice only the chorus for example. Maybe I'll try this though for a quicker drummer.
It’s not an ad - it’s a how to video. It’s not sponsored and I didn’t get paid a dime to make it. It’s a common app that people get and have no idea how to use.
Too much focus on you. I would like it more if we could see the printed page you're working with while you're singing. Sounds like good information, but nothing to compare it with while watching you without seeing where you're getting the information during the performance.
Interesting idea. This video was just to give ideas about how to use the iReal pro for practicing. Maybe I’ll make a video where I show the screen while I practice. Would you be interested in that?
@@PianoandVoicewithBrenda Yes, that would be interesting. Also, anywhere one can find the lyrics to a song? Seems one has to know the lyrics before one can sing the song. I'm not that smart. I think I know the song, but basically only the words here and there.
