i feel like three certain fanfics go in great order and it makes one big story: happy hearthwarmings eve, squirt: rainbow started to know about scootaloo's mom's alcoholism. the final hearthwarming eve: scootaloo's mom dies and scootaloo is forced into an orphanage. this one: rainbow adopts scootaloo. see? its all one story

Man, this was powerful. It's a shame about the title. No one would ever look twice at this story (don't judge a book by its cover). Thought I'd stop by for some background distractions while working, but then... Binder of papers, orphanage, signature... I was suspecting adoption. But what got my heart bursting out of my eyes was one word: "Mother" This Was Good! Almost wish Scootaloo was canonically an orphan for this to happen.

the thing that rainbow dash said about her mother reminds me about my mother, instead of preening it was brushing everything my mother brushes my hair it was exactly the same thing that rainbow dash said, it was like it's so relaxing every single second of it.

OK... my second time listening to this and I really like it. I'm a newcomer to this fandom, but I've done enough basic research and read enough stories to know where relationships between some characters lie. Stories like this, where someone makes a decision that creates a healthy family (RD adopting Scootaloo as a daughter), always grab my attention. It's a joy that always puts a smile on my face.

This is such a precious story. Touch deprivation in young children can cause serious developmental damage physiologically and psychologically: the brain is wired from birth for human contact and interaction. When it does not receive this stimuli it will respond in kind. I love the primal intimacy between a mother and child brought to attention with the sensation of warm breath and the feeling of someones body close to yours only in the special way a parent and offspring can have.

wet hands! ermygersh! my favorite book with my favorite song playing in the background... what are the odds? I think they're actually pretty good. the book and the song carry the same emotion, appeal to the same part of the brain. I like!
