I can't wait to see your prep dry skin video. I had a client this past weekend who had dry/flaky skin. I thought I did a good job prepping, but as I was moisturizing her skin, her skin started to flake! I WAS LIKE 😨😨😨! I remember what you said in this video. I grab a cotton pad & micellar water and I took off the moisturizer and exfoliate her skin. And afterwards I went back to moisturizer and she said her skin felt soooooo soft. I WAS SOOOO HAPPY I SAW THIS VIDEO! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR TIPS! 😄😄😄😄😄
I am SO thankful that I found your channel! I am exploring the route of freelancing, and want to get as much knowledge as possible before practicing on family and friends. You rock!!
Found your channel recently and am hooked! I wish I would have found your videos sooner. You are so clear, concise, and easy to understand. Thank you so much for the great content that anyone can learn from.
So glad I found this channel! I'm a beginner professional mua and ALL of these videos are right up my alley on how I learn....Thanks so much for sharing knowledge!
Thank you so much for all the tricks and good information! could you talk about how to prep undereyes for mature skin so they can look smooth and young looking?? thanks ones again!!
Thank you so much for sharing all your tips and tricks! I have been looking for a RU-vidr like you, for a very long time! Your videos are more informative then school for me🙏
Can you do a video on choosing the correct colours for clients? This is something I struggle with most when doing other peoples makeup! Love your channel always learn LOADS :))
Love, love, love your videos! I'm starting out as a Bridal MUA and have felt so overwhelmed. Your videos are so informative and genuine. I've been glued to my phone this week ha ha. I'm truly thankful! Any way you could do a video on bridal kit essentials and what products you recommend best for bridal?
I haven't done a touch up video yet because it is so specific to the job that i'm doing. I would need to think a little bit more about it and maybe do a video later this summer.
Yes, everyone is right. There is no one that gives the very practical, useful info you do. I also like that you lean more to the Natural Look. That is my personal goal for myself and my clients. please don't go anywhere :) I am a 73 yo Master Esthetician that has decided to go to school to become a MUA. I am retired from the Medical profession consequently, because of my age and profession, I lean more toward the practical and straightforward.....Again, thank you. FYI...My school doesn't really teach this kind of stuff either..
Hi Angie! Love love love these videos!! Was wondering if you could please give us tips on prepping eyelids so shadows last longer and appear vibrant. I personally have combination skin and find eyeshadows don't last even if I use primers like UD Primer Potion. Also I have dark circles and areas of skin either side of my nose where colour correction / concealer doesn't adhere well. Any ideas? Please keep sharing these videos - they're fantastic!!
These are really good questions! For priming eyelids I always make sure to remove any surface oil first, then apply a primer (you may want to experiment with different primers) and then shadow - that usually works well but everyone is different. Make sure the areas where concealer or any product isn't adhering are properly exfoliated and hydrated with a product that doesn't leave an oily residue. That should help!
I LOVE your videos!!!! i am so glad i found this channel , its so informative. I have a question , I am gonna be doing makeup on models for a Runway show for the first time. My weaker areas are setting the makeup, Any advice is appreciated Thanks!!
Yes, making it last. Also is there anything I should do differently when it comes to runway makeup. I use mac studio fix foundation and pro long wear concealer and set it with rcma no color powder. Thanks for replying!!
What is happening to the makeup that is causing concern? What I mean is - what about your making application is making you think you need help with setting?
Angie Di Battista I don't usually have problems with my regular clients, but in this show I am starting to put makeup on the models around 11 and the show starts at 6. so I was wondering if there's anything I can do differently to make the makeup last longer or should I just do touch up before the show begins
The products you are using should last, I would recommend a light touch up prior to the show. Absorb any oils on the surface of the skin before applying more makeup for a touch up and don't apply more makeup just because - make sure they actually need it.
love your tips! I already bought the RCMA pallet and its great! now I'm trying to find the embryolisse moisturizer here in Chile... so hard to get all this products 😢
Ok, so, when you've applied foundation, etc then see large pores on client's face, where the foundation has settled 😧 - would you remove foundation and apply Porefessional in the areas needed? Or, would you just dab Porefessional on top of the large pores to fill them in? 🤔. Not for studio shoots, just a regular client.
Angie Di Battista : thanks for that. I'm still learning. You know I came across one of your videos and I binge watched them all - had to do neck exercises afterwards 🤣. Anyhoo, you're brill! One of the best channels I've come across. You tell it as it is - it's great to get feedback from an artist. Yes, there are my fav makeup pros on RU-vid - Mary G, Lisa E, Charlotte T - they've got great tips BUT they don't tell it like you do, from experience. I can relate to your posts. I actually woke up one day "hummm, I wanna be a MUA" (you can do this in UK - no training and poof ... your a mua!). I did go to makeup school because I put makeup on ppl and made them look like a clown 🤡. The class laughed at me but I am kinda artsy so I ploughed on. I learned a lot in class, from watching RU-vid and now from you. I am a working mua because I put paid ads out there (didn't wait for jobs to come my way - I went out and found them) and worked on ppl like you did back in the day - learning plenty from mistakes. Been working for 7 hrs now - I'm a mature artist (I think I had a midlife crisis) but I enjoy what I do. I did assist once but never again! Hated working on set - don't like the long hours - I prefer to visit clients do the job and go. But thanks for your channel, I ❤️ your style, and I look forward to more posts 👏
Your videos are so informative and so well put together they make me believe that I can be a makeup artist but then I remember that I have no skills as a visual artist and I can barely put makeup on my own face lmao
HI, there is another version of Embryolisse which is called the Hydra-Mat. Have you tried that one? Cause I have a combined skin type and I am doubting which one to use. Especially get oily on my forehead. Thanks!
I have just recently started out. Sometimes I will have a consultation with the client ahead of our appointment (if it’s a prom or a bridal appointment) since I’m still building my kit. When I see the state of some of these girls skin, knowing they have such important events coming up, several times I have wanted to recommend that the girls with the extremely dry/combination skin use a gentle exfoliating daily toner until their event. Also, with the girls that have very oily, but dehydrated skin who are not using any kind of moisturizer at all out of fear of becoming more oily, I want to send them home with a very light gel-based moisturizer and ask them to use it once a day until their event. Would something like that ever be appropriate?
Hi Angie I am new to your channel and I am already loving it:) My question for you is, will the light hydrating serum replace the moisturizer that I am using or do I have to apply my moisturizer first and then the serum? And also what is your best recommendations on moisturizer for oily combination skin? Thanks
The Avene Light Hydrating Serum can be used on its own or under another moisturizer - totally up to you. I have a newer video on skin prep for oily skin out as well.
Sunscreen is usually the last step before makeup. I am combination skin as well and I use fluid sunscreens from La Roche Posay and Neutrogena which I like. There are so many great lightweight sunscreens out there now I’m sure you will be able to find something!
Hi Brenda! Micellar water on a baby wipe or cotton pad to lightly exfoliate, if they are drier skin you can use the baby wipe or cotton pad with Embryolisse moisturizer.
Thank you so much for your videos!! How do you deal with a client who doesn't know their skin type? I had a client who has the most acne I'd ever seen and she had no idea what her skin type was smh...then i put color corrector and power to set it on the acne spots some of which had puss and were active and it started flaking so I was what in the world am I doing lol she liked the final result but I was underwhelmed with myself
Hi Pamela! Most clients don't actually know their skin type which is why you have to really get to know all you can about skin care so you can look at their skin and understand what is happening in order to prep the skin properly.
Hi Angelia! I have not had any clients indicate to me that they are bothered by the scent but if I have a client that makes a point to mention the scent of products I would probably use something else on their skin just in case! The good thing with the Embryolisse is that the scent disappears very quickly once on the skin.
Hi Ms. Angie. I would like to ask if what will you recommend a foundation that long last for your client who is super sweaty person because of the climate especially in Asian country? Thank you so much for help.. 😊
Depending on what you have access to where you live - something like Cinema Secrets would be good but you would have to prep the skin accordingly with a product that can help to control sweat similar to the Mehron Skin Prep Pro.
Angie Di Battista the country I’m talking about is Philippines. :-) mostly of the ladies are sweaty here in our country. So that, I’m asking for the better foundation for a sweaty person.
What products do you recommend for clients needing sun protection? The embryoleise moisturizer doesn't have any spf in it 😔 Also, what setting spray do you recommend to last all day. For my prom clients who are coming early in the day I want to ensure them as much as possible that their makeup will still be good into the night
I actually just started using the Ombrelle fluid from the drugstore and it goes on really well under makeup. I prefer the fluid sunscreens - Neutrogena has a bunch that are great for face as well!
Hi Angie! I’ve heard that some people carry pore strips in their kits to help smooth the skin and get rid of the black heads and what not. What are your thoughts on this type of practice? To use, or not to use???
