In this video I show how to take a fresh cut piece of green wood and prep it, minimize water loss, and prevent checking using products you probably have in your garage. Please note: this method does not guarantee your lumber will not check, and there are many other factors that go into air drying lumber including but not limited to - humidity, temperature, wood species, and thickness of the piece. However, following these steps will at least give you a much better chance at having a working piece of wood when you are finally ready to make that amazing project!
