How to prepare Driftwood for your aquarium.
1st you need driftwood. clean the driftwood with clean water and brush, soaking the driftwood into the container with water for 2 weeks. add rock salt and vinegar to eliminate the parasite on the driftwood. 2nd you need boil the driftwood with clean water. after that, clean the driftwood and put again to the container with clean water, after 1 week clean the driftwood. now your driftwood is ready for the aquarium.

Nice but seems its gonna take like 3 months to finally put it in my aquarium talk. Why don't you just clean it, boil it for 4 to 8 hours clean again and use it? The temperature it boil in will kill any parasites

I have some driftwood that release some oil, I've never had that happen before. I was boiling multiple pieces at a time so I'm not sure which piece it came from. So now I'm trying to find a way to remove the sticky oily like film it left on other pieces. Do you think this method would work? Also have you ever experience driftwood releasing oil while boiling?

Hello sir/ma'am. Yes. You need to dry first your driftwood. You need to expose your driftwood in the sunlight. The oil is just like a tannis on your driftwood. Maybe months to remove. Or if know some falls or river you can soak for a month.

This was a great video. I’m preparing driftwood now and they are big pieces. Had been soaking them in a big tote but then it got green mold on it. So now I had been wondering could I use vinegar and salt. This video answered my questions. I’m wondering now if the driftwood I didn’t properly prepare for another tank...did it give my fish parasites. I definitely wonder now. That was an amazing piece of driftwood you finished. Excellent job. I’m so impatient. But don’t want my fish sick.

Saw where I went wrong. I soaked like 2-3 days. Boil it like 15 min. Didn’t even brush cleaned. A week later, white fungus was growing on the wood. I threw it out. Gave up on the idea. Lol Maybe now, I will try again.

Small can be done easily but what about the big 4 feet drift woods? How can we boil that? All won't have huge vessels

I have a 4ft driftwood. I make the same process. I have a big metal drum then let them boil. If you do not have a big metal drum. You can use a Plastic one. But don't boil. Put the driftwood then slowly pour hot water.

yes sir. if you can't boil the water make sure. to clean the driftwood very well. the reason why you need to boil the water is to. kill the pest inside the driftwood.

2 option will do. Cover for no any object will come to your driftwood. And open container to have a fresh looking driftwood. Cover screen will do.

From my experience yes. I got wood from lfs and my tank became infested with snails so I would recommend at least boiling the water and letting it sit for a few days, maybe a week or two

You need rock salt, vinegar... Garlic, black pepper ,laurel leaf, some sugar and pork meat. Cook it in a pot and voila! Pork Adobo. Joke 😆✌. A good elaborate video though 👌

Yes. But the dirt is inside your driftwood. Some loose particles of your driftwood will not remove. Then when you put in your aquarium. Maybe disaster will happen.

Dpende sayo sir. Kung maliit na driftwood lang Naman saglit lang. Large driftwood kase Yan. Kaya medyo matagal ang process.
