Watch this film to see Lorraine and Charlie discuss how they prepared to attend a Personal Independence Payment (PIP) assessment. Preparing to attend an assessment can be a difficult time. Lorraine and Charlie talk about their experiences and offer tips to other people who are going through the process.
Knowing and understanding the appeals process will give you a greater chance of being successful in your appeal.
Even if you’ve had your Personal Independence Payment PIP claim rejected or reduced, you may still be able to get the benefits you believe that you are eligible for. In fact, as of the final quarter of 2016, more than 60% of PIP appeals were successful.

I got told I am too intelligent to need help managing my treatment, therefore I don't have memorey problems because I use a phone and drive. I got 11 for my daily care so I am asking for a reconsideration with supporting evidence. Its the first time I had an assessment through ATOS. I think that if i missed out by 4 points it would be different but he completely over looked a massive part of my care and they didn't take into condsideration that I have a pa to help manage my disablity. He said because my pincer grip is normal i can prepare meals but over looked the fagtie where i am so tired i can't care for myself or on the days where i take chemo and i am vomiting everywhere and basically a vegetable, or the fact that i have a tremor in my hand so it makes everyday tasks really complicated. Its digrating having to go through this process, its worse being told that your too clever to need help- like we all want to be ill and have to explain it over and over to people just rubs it in!
