He passed away in 2019 unfortunately. He was 86 at the time. A good run if you ask me.

Everywhere that I read says that cellophane us used with cigars because it actually DOES breath (permeable). Also, why do people recommend seasoning a humidor for days or even close to 2 weeks if all you have to do is wipe down twice? Is that enough moisture for the wood to take in not to take from the cigars?

When I got my second desktop humidor I wiped it down with distilled water twice and popped a shot glass with water in it and changed out the water everyday after I got home from work. Since then I moved onto a wine cooler with cedar trays. Did the same with the cedar trays, wiped every tray with distilled water. Love my setup.

Blacklist cellophane has low permeability, so there might be some room for moisture to squeeze in and out but it depends on the variance of the humidity inside vs outside the celo. So depending on how soon you plan on smoking, maybe it will be humidified in time, but maybe it won't. Taking off the celo makes sure the cigar is as humidified as your hygrometer is telling you. But it all comes down to preference, that the beauty of cigars. So many options!

at the moment i have cigars that need storing but havent the money for a humidor, is there any inexpensive way in which i can store them and keep them fresh?
