I love this kind of long format videos, where you don't have to rush or cut anything. Your delivery is flawless and your content is so relaxing and useful!
@@jrap-bi6dfstarting a business while having little to no capital to start with is generally a bad idea to be honest. Unless you have an excess of things lying around the house, it's best to just find a low-level entry job and save up until you can actually start a business.
I am Egyptian and I love your show. I learn so much from you. I use to see my mom just laying the herbs down on a dry dish cloth and leaving them to dry and then she would put them In the jar. I do this with the extra mint, and rosemary. 👍🏽
My mint plant is from the garnish i took home from a house-made lemonade at a restaurant once, little sprig of mint is a huge plant now :D Can't wait to try cloning other herbs too!
@@markishabunn4492 all I can recommend is keep trying and don't be disheartened :D my first few didn't take either but once I got the hang of it they went crazy :)
Duuuude! This is the best long form video that you made. So many amazing informations and a nice and your delivery gave my some good laughs! Thank You for inspiring all of us and making this world a better place! ☀️
I use the ice cube oil trick for so many things. I made some pesto with canned artichoke hearts, olive oil, lemon, and some herbs, then froze it in ice cube trays. Once they're frozen I stash them in a freezer bag and keep it on the freezer door to save space :D
Wow, so many different ideas, I love them all. I'm drying carrots tops in my kitchen right now. I use it in place of parsley in soups and that and seeing this video gave me some other ideas on how to preserve my herbs.
I just discovered this channel, and I am absolutely obsessed. I have always wanted to convert my garden into my own little homestead, but I have been kind of discouraged just hearing about all the maintenance that goes in to it, but this channel has definitely reignited my confidence, and makes it seem much clearer.
Here we use the dehydrator mainly for fruits and vegetables. The herbs we usually dry in a ventilated area or we preserve them in olive oil. Thank you for the tips 👌
I have 2 gigantic sage plants to cut back. I've been waiting to do the job because I didn't know what I would do with what will be coming off. Now I know!
Hi I love your exuberance and your wonderful angelic knowledge that is shared worldwide Your grandfather is very proud of you, you brought forth a mixture of his gardening/cooking skills plus your own polished with love and a electrifying smile. Your smile radiates and your soul connects with everyone that loves gardening and cooking. I love that you have fun in the kitchen and you do not waste food. You are blessed to be a blessing.
Awesome video! I am going to make a basil butter to spread on strawberry waffles. I am going to try your idea with the frozen herbs as well! Love your pantry. Thank you. ♥🙏
These videos just keep getting better and better! So entertaining and funny. It's so nice to see your partner in front of the camera as well! #PowerCouple
I've watched so many of your videos and learnt so much already. Thank you for giving me the confidence and knowledge to start my own garden and helping me to become more self-sufficient.
Love your book. You are such a inspiration to all of use. I use my dehydrator for many herbs fruits and veggies Give many fresh herbs to my co workers. Love the herb butter. 😊
Thanks I bought the silicone bought that sicily salt 🧂 and its so strong and tasty 😋 just done that one for the butter 🧈 and added that salt 🧂 and extra virgin olive oil. Herbs 🌿 the best tasty ingredients. Thanks
@SpicyMoustache Thanks 👍, please l have just watching a video about FPJ, and you said that the remaining of the fermented residue can add a stater of kombucha to it to make it vinegar? My question is do we drink the vinegar 🤔 or its for the house 🏠 cleaning 🤔 am confused,?.
@@lifeiseverything9 oh no you add a starter from vinegar called mother. You could but raw vinegar with mother inside, reserve the scooby/mother at the bottom and add it to the jar. Use the vinegar to clean your house or sterilise the rim of the jar for your next natural inputs :)
@SpicyMoustache OK thanks alot I appreciate that 🙏, yes I have vinegar with the mother it's a good one from Cambridge Town, 5 litre much cheaper and best taste. Thanks I am learning about about food. I am shocked how you plant 🪴 in London and space is always an issue in London.
@@lifeiseverything9 no worries :) yeah I try my best but that proves it can be done anywhere if you adapt to the space and weather conditions. I’m still learning tho
I have an herb garden growing (10-20 herbs) and last year I dried 6-10 different herbs and preserved them for cooking during the winter I had a blast doing it and want to learn more, I even want to do it again this year (I live in New York State) and with the winter coming I would like to harvest my herbs and make them grounded up or whole for cooking in the winter
I have just discovered your videos......thanks to Gaz Oakley's videos........I think your k owledge of growing vegetables, cooking and preserving is amazing! I'm learning lots! Making butter, you can also make butter with double cream.......just use a hand blender or food mixer until the double cream is in two parts......a solid mass and liquid.......you must press all of the liquid out of the solid mass......add herbs or anything you want to the butter........use the liquid which is buttermilk as an ingredient to make sourdough.
Thanks for the great tips! I make a ton of herb salt but never thought to use the blender/food processor instead of chopping them by hand, so you’ve just saved me A LOT of time 😊
I love preventing mushrooms (dried), herbs (fresh) or even some vegetables (tomato, bell pepper, celery) fresh with salt. The dehydrator I often use to dry mushrooms, shredded vegetables for broth oder fruit peels for tea. Another preservation method is fermenting (into alcohol or for a nice side dish)
Man thank you for all these tips and tricks! Speaking as a passionate urban gardener&raw vegan I can only say - mes chapeaux! Love your channel, your energy, everything you create, just awesome! Please never stop creating! Love also your better half’s chopping skills ;) BTW I have 3 dehydrators in 2 different addresses, but always use sun during hot summer days for all my dehydration recipes!
How do I get leaf miners out of my garden and how to i make leaves go back to green from yellow and how do I make my garden healthy also love the channel keep it up
Thank you mate and what you are asking is kinda general and difficult to narrow down giving you a precise solution to the issue without a full background on your garden, plants etc
Man the amount of positive vibes from your videos is awesome Really love to watch your videos .. kinda soothing ngl esp if m having a bad day Thankyou so much
i love this guy. im not even a cooking guy but its so wholesome how he doesnt judge us for not wanting to grow our own, not wanting to do one of the methods etc he will just show another method to make sure you have a lot of choices 😭😭😭😭😭
Where do you reside it seems so pleasant there and I love your accent and brilliance when it comes to healthy eating and not wasting food I love that thank you for your knowledge truly a blessing to us all ❤❤❤❤
brilliant...have just found you...just in time to know what to do with my abundance of parsley. Thank you so much. Am watching you whilst enjoying a cup of tea made with my own mint....Mmmmmm :)
Perfect timing on this video!! I've been cooking with fresh herbs all summer but with the cooler temps, I need to start getting ready for winter. You give so many wonderful options I never thought of. Thank you!
Sure! I made an entire video on how to use every part of stinging nettles but it’s a short form on my RU-vid channel. Just tap on the description and I explain all you Need to know :)
I love watching you and all your friends show us sustainable ways of living! Started on tik tok, and been going through all the videos! Appreciate ya’ll and hope to hang one day!
Not going to lie when that dehydrator went off the counter I was hoping the cat wasn't around just like the blender incident, the cat was like did you really just turn the blender on with me sitting here beside it 🙀,
That Light Grey from celtic salt will drop he-art att-ack ri-sk IN HALF!!!! Likely because of the micro minerals in it. Anyone like me with Turkey wattles under the neck, well they shrunk about 75% over night when I did a 1 day challenge of 12 glasses of water drunk and 2 teaspoons of Light Grey (on tomatoes ). Also my feet shrank a quarter size, and my heart did too. Going up the stairs was suddenly easier. Besides, the flavor is so good you get compliments on everything.
Mr. Moustache, Could you please do a video on seasonal maintenance? I live in Minneapolis Minnesota where we have 4 very different seasons, with 4 very different temperature changes and would love to know how you protect your garden in the fall/winter. Are there any tips you can share for the seasonal transition? Thank you! ✊🏽🤘🏽
My windows where I live don't get enough sunlight so I bought a grow light and am hoping my Thyme and Pink Blush Aloe plants survive and that the Thyme plant doesn't become woody because otherwise plants always die inside and I can't do anything outdoors. I do have a hanging spot outside but plants don't do so well there either. Hoping the grow light solves my problem! I'm going to try to grow garlic shoots and green onion again in water. Those were working even without the light, but were super pale and not palatable so I stopped trying. I'll give it a try again! Even I'll go and get a sprig of rosemary from a rosemary bush in the neighborhood (I have permission) and then try to propagate that as well!
