I knock down the defroster lines on those vehicles with sterl wool (#0000). Very fine, doesn't scratch the glass. I go over the entire surface about 2-3 times, and use the back of my hand to feel the defroster lines..... its 100% easily noticeable. The defroster lines thin down, and more importantly smooth out....For those of you frustrated with that peanut issue, I highly recommend it!!!!

Chrysler/dodge cars and Nissan/Infiniti all have thick defrosters. In my experience thin dyed films puck/peanut more than higher quality/thicker films. I use 500/600 grit sandpaper to sand the matrix and defrosters. The defrosters being on works too. I use that to touch up back windows. Good quality tip Tint Man!

Our Subaru Outback started bubbling after 16 years (83,000 ks) and tomorrow I'm surprising my mum by having the front windows and the rear windscreen retinted.

I found this video pretty useful. Just curious as I'm starting up my tint buisness. How were you able to get behind the rear brake light, and make it work, also any advice for the dot matrix? Thanks in advance.

I have a jetta VI and I have got very big bubbles on the back window! I have a question is it OK if I install the film over the window (outside) ? Because pulling the old tint can break the heaters (defrost)! Right! Any suggestions? Thanks

No, do not install the film on the outside, ever, lol. If you take in into a professional place they’ll remove it safely and retint it for you.

So I have a camaro and on the rear and sides where the dot defrosters are it seems like theres no tint but it's there I went with 5% so it should be dark is there anything I could do to help it?
@tintmanfl
@tintmanfl 3 года назад
The dots are raised so from the outside looking in it will appear white as air sets in between each dot.

I just got my windows tinted on my ‘18 Jetta, it’s been about 5 days, and I’m having glares coming from lights behind me. Is it normal for that to happen?
@tintmanfl
@tintmanfl 3 года назад
Sometimes. On random vehicles the rear defroster lines can be thicker then normal causing light to bend when tinted due to the film being raised on the lines. This is usually only visible at night with lights behind you while looking through the rear view mirror.

Thanks for asking. I had the same question. This has been happening to my recent Camry and apparently it’s inevitable on some cars.
