It amazes me that any of the doctors we go to do not tell us this simple information. Why is that? I specifically asked if there was anything I could do diet or exercise wise to prevent glaucoma and to lower my eye pressure. I was told, “No, it has nothing to do with diet or exercise.” I knew that was wrong because every single medical condition or state of health in general has to do with diet and exercise! I no longer go to that ophthalmologist and “eye care center.” Thank you very much for these videos, Dr. You are saving a lot of eyes! ❤
Recap, steroids, check eyes once a year, foods rich in vitamins and anti oxidants especially vit.B12.,C,A,E,all it’s together, excercises, position of head below heart, not tight neck ties or collars, not face down during sleep, snoring, sleep apnoea ,avoid BP fluctuations,no hypotension, avoid eye injury to prevent damage to lymphatics.
Thank you for your video on preventing glaucoma. I am in my early 70's and was diagnosed with open-angle glaucoma many years ago. My pressure is under control with eyedrops but I want to know what else I can do to save my sight. Your video was very insightful and I will take your advice to heart. Many blessings to you and yours from Oregon.

Wish you were my eye doctor. Here in Germany, my oplthalmologist looks at my eyes, quickly. says nearly nothing.I was at two other eye doctors, they were the same. I have, serious glaucoma and lost one eye. No empathy..After 5 minutes the patient has to leave. I was at a party where an eye specialist boasts about the fact that he sees 90 patients a day. .
Can you drive with one eye? My have glaucoma in one eye. Still able to see but not as good as other eye. Feeling discomfort. Waiting for an appointment with specialist.
I am German born and was raised there until I moved to the US decades ago, and yes Germany has socialized medicine which means you have to go on a list for surgery like my brother who had to wait a solid year to have his hip replaced and my other brother had to fly to Switzerland to get his heart valve replaced because the wait time to have it done would have been to long and he would have died. I still have major anxiety going to the dentist here in the US because of the lousy experiences I had in my young years in Germany. I believe you saying that your eye doctor won’t spend any time with you because it all comes down to money because after all it is socialized medicine and the doctor only gets paid a minute amount of money for seeing a patient, so the more people he can see in one day, the more money they can make. People here in America often complain about doctors here and healthcare system but they are totally clueless about how good we have it here compared to other countries when it comes to healthcare.
i have a daughter who have TRIED ALL tubes and laser and drops (cosopt, alphagan, travatan) NONE works we do now know what to do anymore....she has had it for over 12 years or so and pretty much lost eye sight of her right eye...we are praying to save her left eye for it is catching up with pressure....please help
I was told i had glaucoma eight years ago and in my opinion the best thing for glaucoma is plenty of raw carrots and blue berries even though I am 75 i don't even have floaters
I am glad you mentioned exercises in my opinion nobody should do stomach crunches because of the pressure that they put on your eyes especially when there are far better stomach exercises
Thank you for the video. The tips are great. Just the number 10 is questionable. Listening and reading to other sources online, I have found that the sun is important because of the vitamin D, which is supposed to be helpful on glaucoma too. Hallo from Brazil 🇧🇷
I have never had any vision problems and have been diagnosed with Glucoma in my seventies. Brilliant ophalmologist did Cataracts and stent inplants in my eyes. If not for this eye surgery i would have been blind within a year 🙏
Hello, I have glaucoma, started drops in 2020. I found the exercises not to do were very helpful to know. Also helpful to know about vitamins A C and E. My B12 levels are just above the high normal range - just tested recently. Thank you Dr.Tai!
Hi eye channel while watching your video i went in the spirit for a moment and heard the better time to put drops in ryes is on morning time after the sun rise thank you for your knowledge blessings

Hi doc Ihave infection in my right eye which causes high pressure in my eye and my doc gives me tablets acyclovir 400 2 dialy pls advise if there is any alternative medicine thanks
Hey dr! Can you please make a video about RP (Retinitis Pigmentosa) And which suppliments are best to preserve the vision and slow down the progression of it Also, does gene therapy or stem cell therapy cure it in future
Holistic practitioners agree that exercise is crucial, and are also recommending acupressure massage techniques and rebounding to prevent or reverse glaucoma. Your mention of Vitamin B12 is very helpful because I've tested positive for MTHFR double zygote so I take Methylcobalamin daily. My mother had glaucoma and I'm trying to prevent it - for years have been told my optic nerve "looks funny" but no pressure problems to date. (I'm 70 now :)
Thank you for the information on Gloucoma. I have just been diagnosed of it , medication prescribed for me are eye, but nothing was mentioned about the vitamins. Now that i know i will include the vitamins in my treatment.
Informative video, thanks. My "suspicious glaucoma" with pressure 17-18 changed to "glaucoma", pressure 20-22, after 8 yrs; and after another 2 yrs "pseudoexfoliative" was added. Started latanoprost & gingko a year ago and got pressure down to 7-8, except for my last visit--back to 22-24. I hope the increase was due only to my nasal congestion which has finally subsided now that pollen counts are down again. Side-sleeping didn't work with nasal congestion as I immediately felt eye pressure and had to lie on my back again.
Such a helpful video. Thank you doc! I was diagnosed with Glaucoma last summer, it was a rapid on-set. I was doing DIY projects which included spray painting and carrying 2 tons of pavers(3 at a time). When I went to the specialist for emergency visit, I told them what I was doing before the eye pressure build-up and they dismissed them. I was told to use the pressure meds until my eyes rejected them after 6 months.
Hey doc please please reply to me. Can I share you my OCT report with you? Can you please confirm whether I have galucoma or not? Please reply to me doc i am just 23 year old my doc is saying we have suspicion that you have glaucoma. I am shocked to hear it. Please I want you to see my report and the. Confirm it.

Thanks for informative video, question do you have any recommendation for the protective eyeware to use to reduce risk of eye damage while outdoors . Do you just get 100% UVAB glasses or does it need to be prescribed?
I recommend wear sunglasses with 100% UV block while outdoors. It doesn’t have to be prescription glasses. You can check out my video description for links to my recommended sunglasses.
We ophthalmologists do prescribe acetazolamide to lower eye pressure for patients with very high eye pressures that’s not adequately controlled with glaucoma eye drops alone. Acetazolamide does have potential side effects that need to be monitored by a qualified physician.
Hi doctor, my work usually involves watching a laptop screen for longer durations. After watching for 3 to 4 hours, my vision gets blurry. Can you please help me with some tips?
I can’t give personal medical advice on this platform, but in general, dry eye disease can be associated with prolonged computer use and it can cause blurry vision. Hello Dr Tai, I have been diagnosed with glaucoma in my right eye and use drops in both. I do long distance running including marathons. Do you think there's any risk associated with this endurance running for my glaucoma?
There are many studies showing benefits of moderate cardio exercise with glaucoma, and I am not aware of any study showing negative correlation between long distance running and glaucoma. I hope this helps.
What can be done to an eye lost as a result of glaucoma. So many surgeries and implants has been done and yet the vision is lost. Any other solution. 2ndly, can the patient stop using eye drop since vision is lost in that eyes?
Unfortunately, vision damage from glaucoma is typically irreversible. Sometimes, glaucoma eye drops are still used for eyes without vision to prevent pain from increased eye pressure. I hope this helps.
Thank u Doctor for the health tips. The one that's helpful to me is wearing protection for the eyes, and u are so right the sun damages the eyes. Want to asked a question if it ok. People with glaucoma can they develop flashes and floaters?
Thank you very much. About some forty years ago, doctor told me I had Glaucoma until my cataracts done several years ago. Today, I see your videos and read comments, I drive and also, read news papers. But don't know my eye health. One thing for sure, I have stopped eye drop medication disregarding doctor's advice. I'm in my late 70s. Thank you doctor.
I recommend people who are on glaucoma eye drops to use preservative free eye drops. I was diagnosed having glaucoma about 2 years ago. I'm on 2 types of eye drops to lower the pressure. Unfortunately I am allergic to one of the eye drops and my eyes itch badly. I was given an antihistamine eye drop to counter the itch but it is only about 30% effective. What should I do? Other eye drops also gave some form of allergic reactions/or not effective.
I’m sorry to hear that. You can learn more about other glaucoma treatment options in this video 👉 How to Cure Glaucoma - Treatment Options | Eye Surgeon Explains ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6yT64LBjtxg.html
You may be experiencing a sensitivity to the preservatives in both your Glaucoma drops, as well as the antihistamine eye drops; many if not most eye drops contain the preservative, Benzylkonium Chloride (BCL), likely present in all your drops. This is a very common symptom for patients who may take one or more prescription or non prescription eye drops (even artificial tears or allergy eye drops) over extended periods of time, as would be the case in treating Glaucoma or some other eye conditions. Ask your eye doctor about preservative free eye drops, which are available for several glaucoma and other eye conditions and give you relief.
