A lot of beaders use longer thread to minimize multiple threads within a project and are very confident in adding new thread if needed.

I like to smooth mine out a lot. Beading thread sure is curly off the reel compared to embroidery floss off the hank!

I have found that running your thread threw a dryer sheet also treats the thread and helps to keep from getting tangled and knotted.
