People will always ask me for a drawing at school, and I say, "for 5$ I will." And continue drawing. Most people are deterred by this, but some are like "here *slams 5$ on the table* draw me
I don't have problems pricing arts, just starting in general, I want to start commissions, but I'm just a young teen, and I don't really know if my art is good enough.
I've been struggling with this issue for a while now. Pricing artwork is crazy difficult and uncomfortable. I don't want any money for my art, because I feel like putting a price on it cheapens it. Can I ask my clients for their souls instead? XD
valedro If you don't really need/care about the money from your work (I feel uncomfortable about it too) then why not have an auction and donate the money? That way people pay whatever they want to, and your art isn't cheapened at all since it's helping whatever cause you feel strongly about :) When I can afford to, that's my dream!

I really enjoy the drawing videos because it's fun to sketch along with them. Also, all of your videos (art and face to face) with advice for self taught/young artists are really helpful and inspiring.
I have researched many many youtube channels. I have found yours to be defin. no. 1! Thank you for sharing your insight, talent, different types of art etc. I cant thank you enough and defin. think variety is key! i love to try new things and have fun learning new techniques.

I'd love it if you had a calendar in the works or a planner with your art? Love, Limzy did a calendar and it was made so that you could rip it off and use it as a print! She's also done a planner.
I like when you upload whenever you can! I'd definitely prefer a video of you solely talking about something or drawing something over having no video for a while waiting for a oil painting video

Oh gosh, thank you so much for this video! I literally NEEDED this! I've been making a lot of little illustrations using gouache and watercolour on a5 sized paper. Even though they are all kind of small, they took me a lot of time, I think 2-6 hours. I just have NO clue what to prize them.. I don't sell a lot on etsy but I do have some people who follow me on instagram for example who really like what I do. Uuuugh I just don't want to overprice it, but not under price it either.. Anyway, thank you so much for this video and beautiful work as always.

there is one thing I would really like to see. I am used to graphite and acrylic paint but I really would like to start getting into markers and colored pencils. I want to know how to properly and smoothly blend colored pencil, marker, and both together. would you be able to do a basic tutorial on how to use these mediums, or at least, how you use them?? learning these is a bit daunting to me, I really don't want to mess up a piece. thank you, I really live your art and style. and you're very helpful and informative too. Lovely drawing as always :) Can you upload a video about what kind of printer (inkjet or laser) and what papers you use for your prints? Also how do you color match what you draw to how it's printed out because I know sometimes when an image is scanned and displayed on the screen is not always how it will be printed out.
Would you please make a video discussing what an artist should look for in a printing business? I'd like to make prints of my artwork, but I'm not finding printers in my area who do art prints... mainly business printing. Thank you. I enjoy your videos.

Hi Happy. its like you read my mind lol I was just looking through youtube on videos on how to price your Art. Every Artist has different ways from what I noticed. From my experience when you sell to family or friends they seem to find my paintings expensive or want it for free :( they just dont understand the time and effort etc that takes to create a piece. Not sure if you have been through this before. Bu the way, I would love to see videos of you going to an Art store and buying supplies etc.. Have a great day :)

Not all prints are created equal too. If you see a print that's pricy it might be a Giclée which is archival and meant to last for many years. Other artists may choose to make prints at home which will be more affordable but fade slightly over a large period of time if you don't take care of them.
really osum!! I love your videos on grey toned and tan toned papers!! Please do a video on Black papers as well...Also please tell us that how do you choose canvases? As in i have jus started painting but i dont understand all these technical terms like medium grain and stuff. ALso the different varieties of paper like hot press and cold press...!! Please make a video on this :) :)
Always happy when new video comes up :DD Only thing I disagree with is counting hours..it never really made sense to me because somebody can do the same quality painting in 4 hours as I did in ...3 days.
I love your art, I was wondering if you could make a tutorial sometime involving markers? sometimes when I use those type it will start to streak or the overlapped areas are very obvious
