@DIYQUEENDIVA

Good morning, Donna. Are you saying your candy apples are coming out taffy like? Cook your candy to 300 degrees. If that's not a new candy thermometer you need to replace it. Another thing is, your house can be too warm. Make sure your house is very cool. I keep my house at 65 degrees.

@DIYQUEENDIVA
@DIYQUEENDIVA Год назад
Thank you so much.💕This is normal. It’s so normal that I don’t even think about it or take the time out to cut mine. You can try googling to see if there’s a company out there who sells shorter straws the length of your sticks. I hope this helps you.

How do you keep your apples from not being so sticky I put them in the fridge raider I think that was one reason they are sticky but can you help me with my question
@DIYQUEENDIVA
@DIYQUEENDIVA 10 месяцев назад
When you put them in the refrigerator you need to make sure you leave your candy apple bags opened until the event and then tie them up on that day. Here's also a way to keep them not sticky in these tutorials here - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QqNr5ZILwug.htmlsi=Hkj5W0Zfh6By9yft ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r-_Z8LKYVs4.htmlsi=uubVpwgX5WMIqe29 I hope this helps you.💕

Since I am just starting out and using food stamps to purchase my apples, sugar, corn syrup and flavor, do you think it’s smart to charge a cheaper price until I’m better at this craft and then raise my prices? I feel people who support me will understand if I raise my prices or should I just start off with higher prices?
@DIYQUEENDIVA
@DIYQUEENDIVA 2 года назад
It's up to your discretion on what to charge. No one can tell you how to run your own business. If you feel like that's what you need to do, I say go for it! Because at the end of the day you are flipping what you spent back in FS and turning that hustle into cash. Gone head with your bad self. Now that's a certified hustle...lol.

OMG! This is why I did this video. I'm trying to open up treat makers eyes. You're not paying yourself for the labor and time. You definitely want to get your money back for the purchase of the material plus a little profit.

@DIYQUEENDIVA
@DIYQUEENDIVA 2 года назад
@@lissettemercado7569 $7.50 is a good price because the carnivals sell candy apples for $10-$12 each for a plain candy apple. And those candy apples at the carnival are not as good as your local treat maker. Yes $1-$2 is just not enough to cover the purchase of supplies and labor.

So I was thinking of charging 6 apples $45 two plain colored two sprinkled and two sanding sugar with ribbon and colored straw in a bag

That's a good price, because you have the sprinkles, sanding sugar, ribbon, and colored straws. Those items cost to add on an apple.

Should your price depend on where you live,also?
@DIYQUEENDIVA
@DIYQUEENDIVA 2 года назад
Shan Baker I hear this all the time. Taking everything into consideration, yes it's very possible that some treat makers have to price their treats according to where they live. However, I just raised my prices due to inflation nationwide. Prices are rising in all stores and even the Dollar Tree went up to $1.25. So if your prices are low due to where you live, you still may want to consider raising them because you're paying more for products to make your treats. You must make a profit unless it's a hobby.
