Hello Martin! A little question: both papers that you use, are they from the same kind? The one you use to print and the one you use to make the final decal? Thank you by forward!!!
It looks amazing, and love your videos! You seem to do an extra step of printing to one sheet, then heat press to decal paper. The instructions for the decal paper you linked say to just print to decal paper, then spray it. Can you explain what paper you print to first, and what paper you heat press to, and why it's different than the instructions on decal paper instructions?
If you haven't found out already, I'd like to offer what I think is the reason. The first paper is necessary for the printer not to jam etc, but he doesn't like the resulting thickness on the frame under the finish coat so he transfers to the vinyl.
I would agree that if you did this on white waterslide paper it wouldn't be necessary, but I think Martin prints his 'white' on his decals and sheets so he then heat transfers it onto clear as it will give a clear background between the cutline and decal...IMHO. #decal #UCI #etoe
Hello Martin, always great videos as usual. If I understand well you have your laser printed sheet transfer to a thin lacquer layer sheet with the heat press. If so, do you have the link for the thin lacquer layer film? Thanks
Das scheppert einen so aus dem Leben . Einfach eine perfekte Arbeit. Jeder der bei dir etwas in Auftrag gibt, der bekommt nicht nur 100% sondern auch Leben, Seele, Hingabe und Herz.
LOVE your videos Martin! I tried to preserve the original sticker on the fork and strip all the original paint around it since as you said - I don't want to run into issues in the future. But I must say this is impossible. I either have to leave some paint around the sticker (just like it shows on minute 00:39 in your video), or damage the sticker with the sandpaper (no matter how precise I am trying to be). I don't have a printer, so I guess I have to hope for the best when repainting the bike with some old basecoat/paint residue underneath?
this might be stupid question: but is it legal to print your own UCI cert sticker? doesn't it lose its meaning if anyone can print it at home (well "at home"... you know what I mean) btw, that bit at 6:55 is pure magic!
If your frame has an UCI certification number it is possible to print the label with the number on. If your frame has no UCI certification it makes no sence to print a fake label on. The frame has still no certification even with the fake logo.
Habe mich auch schon immer gefragt wie du das hin bekommst. Warum transferierst du das Logo denn von einem Papier auf ein anderes Papier? Kann man das nicht direkt auf den Rahmen kleben? Wenn nein, welches ist denn das 2. Transferpapier? Ist leider nicht in der Videobeschreibung drin. Sonst Top.
I love the fact you reveal all your tricks. I just designed some custom decals for my bike and sent then off to be printed onto decal sheets - only problem is they don't do the laser cutting :( So they won't be as pro as yours!
Me encantaría que me pintaras mi cuadro S-works pues eres un genio y se quedaría genial pues lo adquirí en negro sin pintar y me quedé un poco vacío cuando lo recibí.
Hello martin! watching & fan from the philippines, love your vids & work of art in painting! Btw can i ask the size of the uci certf. laabel? Thanks a lot!
Good afternoon Martin, a little thing, the UCI logo, have you vectorized it or have you been able to download it from somewhere? I want to put it on my Gravel bike to make it look more beautiful. I am a model designer and I make the decals for my scale train or truck models, but since I do not have white ink, I have to order them for certain funds.
Hi Martin, I followed the Amazon link. Does this paper come with the second stage sheet or are the purchased separately. Not much info on listing? Thank you
Well it's easy, but nothing simple! #1 Where did you get the graphic and figure out the right size. #2 Who owns a heat press, oh a professional sign maker maybe? #3 Are these special inks that don't run in water or can I use my regular ink jet printer ink? #4 Whats the UCI font called? Is it Helvetica numbers or Palatino Linotype numbers, are they spaced regular, are they bold or italics?
You can use an inkjet printer if you buy inkjet foils. Find some in the video description. Fonts differ on several frames so you have to find out yourself what font your bike company used. Check the original label on your frame for the right font.
I’m confused- did you print onto the white waterslide paper and then heat press to a clear waterslide paper? If it’s a different type paper for the heat transfer, what is it?
