OMG Michelle, you just saved me from spending $40 at Staples!! I purchased ready to print anchor charts off of TPT for $20 and was trying to figure out how I was going to print them off poster size. Originally, I was going to trace them using my projector in my classroom, but I'm pressed for time! Now, I can just print and tape, yaayyy!! Please continue to make these tutorials, your amazing work is helping all of teachers stay afloat!!
Awww, YAY! I'm so happy you found this video and will be able to use the information (especially to save money)! Yes... you DEFINITELY don't have time to trace it with a projector... that takes forever! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! 🖤 Best of luck to you!
You can also glue the taped pages to a cheap poster board from Dollar Tree or an office store to add durability, with or without lamination. Great video as usual, Michelle!
What a helpful tutorial! This would even be fun for the students to learn how to do so they can create their own digital posters and print them for projects. Thanks for a great video! Have a wonderful weekend!
Ahhh yes! I hadn't even thought of that but that's a great idea Mandy! Thank you so much for watching and sharing your idea! I hope you have a wonderful weekend too 🖤
This video was extremely helpful! I have made my own poster size motivational Bitmoji posters but for some reason I never thought about applying that to my anchor charts! I'm moving back to the grade level that I love teaching next year and am getting things prepared for the move and THIS video has already been used to make 5 anchor charts! Thank you for supportive, useful, vlogs that a teacher can actually use!
Great video, if you can find super large laminating pouches or a roll of laminating pouch, you can always put a cloth on top of your plastic and use an iron to laminate, or you can also use clear sticky back plastic. Not the easiest task, but alternatives if you can't get it laminated at school. Thanks for all the great content Michelle, I love it
Former Copy shop worker at Staples here: We have large format laminators. I think Office Depot, Office Max, UPS, and FedEx Office (Kinkos) have them too.
Thank you so much for showing this. Now that I've watched your tutorial it all makes sense and seems so easy. I sit hear and think "hmmm why didn't I think of this myself"! Your ideas are awesome and I really appreciate the time you take to share them with us.
Thanks so much! Love this and slowly trying to go back and watch each of your past files over!!! The last three video's you made are outrageous! Love this stuff..
Man, I'm not even a teacher but this hack would've saved me in college for all my freaking test prints of posters 🤣🤣 (I'm a graphic designer) oh well 🤣 at least I can use it now post-grad for personal projects and such 🥰
Another great video!! This is so cool! I think it’s so important for us teachers to know how to create these digital charts for reference. It will definitely come in handy for some teachers that have trouble drawing pictures. Doing it digitally will allow them to find the pictures they need to go with their chart. One question I had was about the paper cutter you were using. Did you attach the link below? It looks very handy.
Aww, thank you so much Nellie! 🖤 I appreciate you watching and commenting as always! I'm with you... adding pictures digitally is SO much easier! My paper cutter is from Stampin' Up and is several years old (my mom is a demonstrator for SU). But, here is another one I recommend from Amazon: amzn.to/3Ev0QPG
Hey Michelle! I’m Jessica Collins ❤️❤️ I’m a 6th grade teacher 👩🏫 and these tips and tricks help me so much and they also allow me to to grow and expand my classroom. I have a passion for making my classroom looking colourful while the posters still being useful. These poster tips make me more excited and makes me grow my passion for making colourful posters for my classroom 💕💕 Thank You Girlfriend 😄😄 Makes me feel that my passion is recognised 😅
Great video. Thanks. Any free programs? Adobe light won’t allow me to print a. Poster and it’s $80. Seems a bit much considering I’m not using adobe to create the poster but only print it.
I love your tutorials! They are so easy to follow. Would you consider making another Google Sheets video where you teach how to protect cells? Also, any chance you would be willing to make a video series of graphic design tips? I love all of your series so much. Can I just say that I love your dad's RU-vid channel! His videos are so easy to follow and relaxing to watch! I can't wait to try some of his recipes! One more question. Do you know when your book will be available for pre-order? I CANNOT wait to read it! I have been teaching for 25 years and I have learned SO MUCH from you!
Aww, thank you so much for watching and commenting as always! I'll keep those in mind for future video ideas. Aww, thank you so much! I'll definitely share that with him the next time we chat... he gets SO excited so I know that'll make him happy! I'm not positive when my book will be ready for pre-order YET but I'll be sharing as soon as I know! I can't wait for it to be available! 🖤🖤🖤
Here's the link to this channel (EZ2follow): ru-vid.com/show-UCFZ7bBZKDCBQ8_JrXnNUNgQ Don't ask why he named his channel that, ha! I don't get it either!
Great video! It's a little bit of work, but worth it! Now I can make all kinds of custom posters. Love your paper cutter, I have the exact same one from SU!
Yes! It definitely gets easier the more you do it though! Thank you so much for watching and commenting Kelli! 🖤 Also, that's awesome! My mom got it for me YEARS ago because she's a demonstrator for SU!
Don’t forget removable tape to help get things lined up before actually applying the more “permanent” tape or glue. Removable tape is such a helpful hack. It’s like having an extra pair of hands! **Great video!**
What printer are you using? I am looking to buy a new printer. Thank you for this video! It was so helpful! This is going to save me a LOT of money and time because I hate making my own anchor charts and I don't want to fork out $20 plus dollars for just one poster. So when I say thank you I really mean it! 😂
Hi! This is wonderful but I have a question. My poster is mostly black/dark colours and when I tape the sides, you could clearly see the tape (because it's glossy). What can you do about it?
Thank you for this! Just a heads up to everyone, there is currently an issue with the poster option on Macs - I went through several trouble shooting pages, but...well...there's a reason why I'm a music teacher and not in tech lol. It worked well on my work laptop (windows). To print on another computer/direct to printer you can "print to PDF" and it will save the tiled pages as a PDF on your computer. From there you can transfer/move the file as needed. :)
I’ve been printing like this for years but just came across this issue. I came to this video in hopes of some sort of explanation or solution. Were you able to find a solution?
Is there a way to save the poster pieces on a thumb drive and take it to a color printer. Does that make sense? I don’t have a color printer in my room so I need to take it to a color copier.
Great video. I have to ask this question and if you can direct me in the right direction, I woud greatly appreciate it. When I do this, my printer shows 4 pages, but then when it prints, it prints 16 pages. What am I doing wrong?
Another thing you can do if you don't have a large laminator available is use clear contact paper. It's a bit more difficult to get right, but it's doable.
Thank you so much Alex! I'm not sure what you mean by designs... they are all things I've created. I linked a video in the description box with a tutorial on how I created this anchor chart.
This is such a helpful video but I don’t have access to the Pro version of adobe acrobat. I have the reader installed but when I print it always takes me to the system printing on Mac rather than adobe printing. So I don’t have the option for poster on Mac settings
I personally have a HP 8710 and do recommend it but they don't make it anymore because it's several years old. Here's the printer I would recommend that's available: HP 9015e amzn.to/3yvfd2h
Hello, I think you are a marvellous teacher. Thanks for sharing your tutorials. Why did you resign and leave the profession?? I know the U.S. is desperate for student teachers and qualified teachers.
