Thank you SO much for this video! About a week before you posted this, I was searching for a way to print and cut laminate, and its like your upload answered my prayers! lol. I make and sell these type of laminated activities and it was becoming very tedious to hand cut my laminated pieces, not anymore!! thank you thank you🙏🏻

Oh this is a game changer. Thank you so much for sharing this. Works every time and saves so much time cutting the laminate by hand and ALOT neater. I used the offset for the laminate templates if that helps anyone.

Omg. I literally figured this out last night and then I find this video today. The only difference is I laminated 1st, cut around the picture, then placed the picture in its spot and had the Cricut do a more precise cut.

I did something similar but I just laminated after printing and then sent the sheet through the cricut. It actually lined up nicely and the cuts were great.

Thank you for this video, I am a novice, and need more assistance.... So I purchased busy book activities online, the pages of the document does not use the 9.25, but traditional letter size. Should I return my explorer air 2 device? If I resize the print and cut, the images will not match the busy book well.

What would happen if you printed out your print and cut with the registration marks, then put it in between the laminate sheet had the cricuit air explore 2 cut around each sticker then run each cut out back through the laminater

Print a second copy on regular printer paper. Cute the image out and keep the border then tape it over your laminated piece. Your cricut will be able to read the guides then.

You can make it inkscape which is free, I do mine in Adobe Illustrator.

When you make the cut the first time, couldn't you just use that as the template to run it through the second time after laminating? Just trying to understand the method.

Hi there! The template for the first time (print + cut) isn't the same layout as the one for the laminated cut. Cricut rearranges print+cuts for you (when you load the file into Cricut Design Space, the images are horizontal but when you go to cut, it does so vertically), so it wouldn't be aligned for a laminate cut. Thanks for the question though! I do wish there was an easier way!

Awesome! Alternative to other hack of having to tape over he laminated sheet with plain sheet of paper aligning the registration marks. You didn't mention what cut setting used to cut laminate. Can you share what you used? Thanks!

I used the heavy cardstock option on my explore air 2 but it will depend on how think your lamination sheets are. I used the ones I linked in the description. If it doesn't cut through, don't unload the mat and run it through the machine again (press the blinking green button).

Wow this is a great hack! I have a few questions if u don’t mind. How did u keep the images so still in the laminate sheet when u picked it up from the cutting mat? Mine slide around😃 I would LOVE to learn how you made the 2nd file to line with with the original images. I have a non verbal son with autism, I make him laminated images to communicate with us. It would be so helpful if I could do this with my Cricut. I would be able to make him many more shapes. Thank you so much for sharing this! Best idea ever.❤️

Which brand of laminate sheets are you using? The Amazon Basics ones have a "static cling" to it that holds it together very well for me! (Link: amzn.to/3fbv2Rn). I also don't move the sheet until I ready to laminate and keep the laminator right beside me. I will try and make a video on how to make your own cut files! You will need a third party program like Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape to do it but it's really easier than you think! Stay posted!

Hi! I use regular scotch brand laminate sheets that don't have that "static cling" to it and also had the same problem! I've found that running a glue stick on the back of the paper pieces you're putting in the laminate really helps them to stay put and the glue dries clear once laminated!

I like to use "Heavy Cardstock" as my setting on laminated sheets. Hope that helps!

i am too much of a perfectionist i hate hate hate it when i add bleed and it sometimes leaves a bit of the bleed on the main image i am wanting, so in photoshop if it is anything like a single picture like what you are doing here i add a thicker white line around the image like what you do with stickers then atleast you get a neater picture. depends though on what pictures i am wanting and style i need

Surely there has to be a setting that is deep enough to cut through the laminate and the vinyl at once.

There is! Most of the heavy duty settings will cut through both. The problem is that you don't get the extra seal if you don't leave a border around the paper you are laminating. This method accounts for that so the things you laminate last longer :)

Just purchased a Cricut and looking at projects. Why can this just be cut once on a laminated sheet, why print the image twice?

You could just cut it once with the just the laminated sheet but then you don't get the laminated border around the image which gives it a better seal

you're correct for precise cuts but I'm guessing the laminated shapes are larger than the printed ones. that extra space allows room for the cut to be slightly off without noticing.
