I can't say enough positive things about this product and the AWESOME customer service. I installed the gaskets for the entire 2017 JK Jeep and it fixed every leak, to include the freedom panels. I rent out my Jeep via Turo and many customers remove the panels to enjoy the open-air feeling. Unfortunately, the PS panel is now leaking again, due to improper installation via my renters. I contacted the company and spoke with Tony. What a great guy!!! He's helped me to troubleshoot my leaks and is sending me out enough gasket material to replace my passenger side panel. I am extremely impressed with the product, but more impressed with their amazing customer service!!! Thank you, Tony!!!
I’ll admit when i first heard him say “proprietary secret reflexive gasket system”,my mind began racing.I encountered my passenger side leak over the winter however didn’t realize just how bad it was since the rubber Jeep mat was disguising the water buildup. So I’m gonna do the initial inspection to determine if i need to go further.Thanks.. My first impressions from watching though are positive since it’s thoroughly being explained which many others don’t.
Excellent video and explanation. I just ordered a kit for my 15 JK 2dr. I'm sure if this is as nice as it looks, I'll be sending more business your way.
by a country mile the best explanation of causes and fix - and since the floods (Northern Rivers, NSW, Aus) - I think I've seen them all. You should be a teacher, mate.
Great video! Check your doors for being flush, my passenger front door was sticking out further at the top front than the windshield frame by a few mm. Mark the inner hinges with a sharpie so you know it's original position, remove the door, loosen the top inside bracket on the inside of the door and carefully move it a slight bit. The sharpie marks should help you keep it vertical. Re-hang the door and test. There's no chance of the door seal doing its job if the door isn't aligned well. You might also notice how easy it is to close the doors -- my drivers always requires a bit of a push to get shut (and didn't leak) but the passenger prior to alignment was always very easy to close and leaked. After bringing it in a few mm it now closes similar to the driver's side and no more leaks... at least for now. That all being said, there's so many possibilities for leaks that the kit they are selling is probably a good way to go b/c it deals with so many different aspects of the possible leaks.
Thanks Guys. Its nice to see guys that like Quality. You two are geniuses. There is so much junk on the net. I ordered my Kit. My 2016 looks new, but leaks a bit. can't wait to fix it. It might rain here in SoCal like it did last winter. It is October now.
Love the vid, talked alot but each word was something useful, No bs like some other videos. I watched the whole 1 hr video and all of it was useful information great job explaining every little detail!
@@jeepleakfix will you guys come back and do panoramic glass tops again? I never got mine done before you guys stopped doing them Would be great to get it
Yup I’m definitely going to have to get this. One question would it be better to go under the mucket seal I think is what they are called (the black rubber pieces in the corners and bend of the door) in case they get messed up down the road and you need to replace them? I have a 2016 jku in mint condition only 47k miles just got last year and noticed last week rear floor soaked. Haven’t figured out where it came in yet but still keep should have done this years ago. I think mine could be the seal on the corner of the door where they joined the molded piece to the straight door seal to make the corner the joint is starting to separate.
I just installed the front doors, the only spot where I had bad leaks. Water would pool up in the foot wells of both front seats and under the driver's seat. Not too hard to install. Just follow this video closely. Better lighting would have helped in the video and on my install. I poured a bunch of water. Seems to be holding up well. I had lots of left over material, in case I want to redo the fronts. Looks like it should be durable. I'll give feedback in a few months.
Just ordered the kit, thanks Jeepers! This must be the best option! Finally we should get our Jeeps dry! ;-) Have fun out there OIIIIIIIO greetz from the Netherlands
@@SamT40 Up till now i have a dry Jeep! Had some terrible rain in south of france this month but a dry Jeep! I still think this is the best solution at this moment.
@Ur very angry thanks for your respond. Maybe for all, after one year the Jeep leak fix here and there came loose or was destroit after using the doors. I glued the loose parts, had some left overs to fix damaged parts. However i still had a few drops of water in the Jeep. So i bought closed cell material, self sticking rubber. And cut small pieces like 1cm or 1,5cm as long as possible. I just followed the Jeep leak fix kit along the door style and sticked it along. In the upper corners i sticked bigger corners en wich i just made by scirrors. The material is maybe just 2/3mm thick. After my fix we had some very rainy weeks here and i was very very happy that my Jeep was 100% dry again. So, some extra attention especcialy in the corners and half way on the front doors in the front sticking extra material will absolutely do the Job. Dont get angry after having a wet Jeep. Just get working and make yourselve happy. I have met a person who did sell his Jeep for leaking but hearing my story he would have known this and still having his Jeep. What type of freedom panels are those, looks like a sun roof I love them. I am having a serious water issue and their was mold everywhere. I just stripped all the flooring and have it gators until your website restocks. Hopefully soon but this video makes so much sense
Can this be used with the Sunrider for hardtop & Sunrider soft top. I have water that seems to be coming down the inside of the A Frame Inside Windshield molding. The foam seal gets too much water in it and leaks.
It looks like the gasket in the video works great on a Sahara/Rubicon where the body, door frames and rear top are fully painted. My question is for the JK rear top that comes painted but it doesn't have that smooth surface as the Sahara. If you look closely, the paint has a rough look, not smooth. Does the gasket stick to that surface or do you have to add the Gorilla glue for the jeep's rear top edge above the rear doors?
They are called a Pillar gaskets. A lot of times, that is where the root issue will be. Also if you ever removed your doors. Make sure they are aligned correctly when you put them back on. Good luck to ya.
Just ordered this. I saw the video a while ago, but I wanted to wait until the winter weather broke here in MI. I did some of the weather stripping as a quick/temp fix, and it worked okay until the 36 hours of rain the past couple of days. I opened the door and it was like a waterfall around the door frame. I look forward to receiving and installing this…I’m so tired of a wet carpet (it’s out right now because I couldn’t get it to dry. I had rust on the floorboard, couldn’t figure it out until I pulled the carpet and found a rusted nail underneath. It had to have been there since it was manufactured as the carpet had never been out. So f@&king pissed!).
I bought the product and received it today. I installed everything and it was pretty simple except the passenger side freedom panel. I watched the videos at least 15 times to make sure I was installing the gasket correctly on the panels but there was no instructions for the passenger panel so I hope I installed it correctly.
Hey Jason.. because of this comment we actually made a new video that really dives into the details of the freedom panel install. We uploaded it to the homepage of our website jeepleakfix.com/ thanks for the input..
Why did you change the orientation of the seal on the back window so that the flap was on the inside? I thought the reason for the flap was to provide a channel for water
Once the gaskets are stuck to the body of the Jeep there is no way they are coming off. The adhesive is made to stick to metal and will not come off when you take your doors off.
Hello.. the gaskets hold up very well with no doors during the summer months. The double sided tape that is on the back side of the gasket is extremely durable and will not come off.
Hey Donald. The tops can still come off easily because they are not connected to the body of the Jeep. Check out the new video on our website to get a better understanding of the install.
Feel free to call us if you have any questions or to let us know exactly whats going on with your Jeep. Our number is on our website. www.jeepleakfix.com
$140 is a lot cheaper than paying a detail guy to remove all the mold from your interior. Payed $400 for the detail job on my jku, and the entire interior was covered in mold.
