In this video I show you how to mount a set of antlers on a custom plaque. You will see on the wall behind me you can mount pretty much anything using this method.
You will need the following:
screws, drill, hot glue gun, rope, fabric or leather, stain, Styrofoam, utility knife, scissors, staple gun, dry wall mud or paper mache, saw dust, water.

the white stuff is dry plaster, I add sawdust to thicken it up also. You can use paper mache or basically anything that goes on wet, holds a shape and gets rock hard when dry. :)

I have never left them that long but did a quick google, some say to get as much off as you can with a razor blade and then boil. Make sure the antlers are out of the pot and only the parts you want cleaned are in the water. Others suggest sitting them in an ant hill.....ha sounds like a neat idea IMO. Good luck

dont get me wrong, you did a fantastic job, even better than the ones I have done myself, its just that from the video the plaques look fake. I guess because you made them, they probably look better in person, but anyway, great video and great trophies.

hi, hope i can get a response anyway i have left my horns setting in the garage for about 6 months how should i remove the skin and hair? boil it? or is there another way.

LOL....ok. Those aren't kits that I put together they are oak/maple that I cut/router'd myself. I guess I could have spent more time on them but not too many shapes you can do that look good. anyways thanks for watching.

first off, great mounts, you do them as good as a taxidermist. I liked this vid, but the only thing that I dont like are those fake looking plaques. You could have gone with some better looking oak ones. Those that come with the kit you ordered look like a plastic toy that comes in a kids meal box. no offense.
