Is it possible to set the year back within the ecm? To avoid ELD laws I’ve heard of guys having the ecm changed to show 1999 vs any older date. Is this possible?

I just wanted to mention I called Triple-T they told me I've got to install one on the passenger side behind the oil cooler there's a plug unscrew it and screw the other one in... I was just letting you know what I found out or I can put a block heater on it. I am being told it's not a bad job to install that plug not hard at all...? 1500 watt plug.. 1fuja6av37w93940

aloha adept ape , i have a morbark 2006 model blizzard12 w a caterpillar eng 3054c/e type 2 this eng has 3 settings for the rpms and the high setting is revving at 2550 rpm. its seems high and i am inquiring of how to lower the rpms to 2000-2400. any advise ?

Is it possible to copy a program from an ecm to my laptop for future use? A buddy of mine has a 7cz and i want to copy the program to my computer and am unsure how to do that.
Can I copy my ecm file using copy config on to my laptop desktop and upload the same file to my friends truck of same year and model. Do you recommend me to save my ecm program to laptop regardless
Got a REALLY left field question here... Would there be any possibility at all of taking a direct injection CAT 3408 and modifying it to be an electronic engine. For example,... using electronic injectors from a 3406E or later electronic engine? I'm sure there would have to be custom heads in order to fit 3406E or later injectors into a 3408,.... and then there is the entire ECU problem. But what about going with a stand alone aftermarket ECU? Just throwing around some crazy ideas. The 3408 is such an awesome engine and I want to put one in a Peterbilt,... but would like to get best performance and fuel mileage with newer electronic technology. Any thoughts, comments, etc. would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks Cyrus
I am having a head scratcher problem, I do all these steps, get the same starup communicating messages in this video, ATA then CDL, the j1704 light flashes but yet it always comes back with no ecm detected. I know this can't be right cause my 3126b starts and runs just fine??
Congratulations friend for the videos! I wonder how much is costing a cat 3 communicator out there. Here in Brazil is very expensive. and I already work for a while with heavy machines electronics but I don't have the cat communicator. even a used server served me.
I have a 2001 Kenworth t800 c12 ycpxm0729erk engine#2ks49050, I have installed a 2007 c12 BCY-00138 family 5cpxl12.0esk (military surplus engine) generator engine my questions #1 is there a program out there for this conversion. Question #2 what is the difference between the two engines other than voltages the ypc(445hp) hp and variable speed and the BCY is 515hp and wants constant speed (RPM) and turbo, is the camshaft the only difference or is the crankshaft and stroke different. I did had a local guy program the BCY (ECM) it does run and idles fine but when driving there is a few spots that the engine sputters then puffs out big cloud out the exhaust pipe (fuel) I can feather the throttle out but I want to fix. Any ideas to help. I think its the camshaft and timing issue in programming, Would you know if its just the way the camshaft was designed for constant RMP. and /or think that if I change to a truck camshaft and ECM that it will work with the crankshaft and stroke of the BCY engine and/or the injectors need to be changed .I really enjoy your videos and thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience cheers
hey buddy, how r u? i wish u the best for all your helps i have a problem, i have an engine which its ecm needs to be flashed and programmed again, but unfortunately the engine does not have any id and i just guess it is 3406e. now the current ecm communicates with adapter but as someday was changed with someone and not correctly programmed, it does not show any serial no and maybe that is the reason the engine does not start. finally i want to know that is there any way or method to get the ESN of an engine by not counting on id plate or ecm info??? because i need to get the correct flash file and program the ecm well. my best regards

does reflashing an ECM damage it in any way. I have a BXS engine that had the double turbo and was converted to single turbo the ACERT was removed all prior to me purchasing this truck. i now had to purchase a new ecm and when the mechanic reprogrammed we now have the check engine light and three codes which are due to the ACERT being removed. I have a guy that can put a new program that will remove the codes but I would like to know if reflashing will damage my new ECM

No you have to take it with someone who has a tool that can connect to the ECM and reprogram the PPM. PPM = Number of chopper teeth on transmission X Axle Ratio X Tire REVS per mile.
You have to change the dip switches behind the speedometer so it reads correctly. Then update your PPM in the ECM so the data is stored correctly there.
Back in 1996 had a new KW doing the second oil change, around 20k miles, did the service started engine ran for leaks shut truck off, went into the office to pay the bill come back to truck check oil level go to start truck to back out of the shop engine wouldn't start, the ecm died that fast

My CAT ET3 Tool can not able to diagnose EST perkin power wizard controller and ET caterpillar EMCP controller For CAT software ET can not able to Diagnose *EMCP* Module of Caterpillar. PERKIN SOFTWARE EST is also can not able to *Power wizard* module. Both have same Errors *Unable to communicate with an ECM*
Most of the time you have a bad connection on the IVA solenoid. You can buy a harness or a splice. The splice rarely holds. I usually take the splice (if I use one) take it apart and use the plastic connector. I take the connector on the engine and remove the plastic connector and spread the connection to get the fit tighter. I put the new connector onto the harness and feel if its snug.
Pre emissions isx i have been told are million mile engines, have have a few that have been deleted that have over 600k on them now in newer peterbilts with very few issues
