Getting Started with FX5U PLC and GX works3
1) Configure Build in analog IO
2) Configure Global Variable for Digital IO
3) Configure High-Speed pulse output
in this tutorial, we control a VFD
Frequency control using (0-10vdc Singnal)
And Servo Control using pulse+Positing signal
let's gear up
first, we make a global variable
Digital Input
=====================
X0 = Emergency Stop
X1 = INV FWD Start
X2 = INV REV Start
X3 = INV Stop
X4 = Servo Start
X5 = Servo Stop
Digital Output
=================
Y0 = Servo-PLS/ connected to any servo
Y1 = Servo-DIR/ connected to any servo
Y3 = Inverter ON/FWD
Y4 = Inverter OFF/FWD
Analog Output
=================
DA = Inverter Frequency Command(0-10vdc)
Ch1 = V+ Connected (INVERTER-AI-1), and V-(INVERTER-GND)
AD = Inverter analog feedback Read(0-10vdc)
Ch2 = V2+(INVERTER-AO-1)and V-(INVERTER-GND)
we used ch2 for analog input,
you may use ch1 or both
In my project, I do not use scale,
you may use
FX5U has built-in 2-channel analog input and 1-channel analog output: 12-bit (2^12=4096)max int value
also has a highspeed pulse output of up to 500Khz
also has built-in rs485 media
before creating the output variable
we configure the pulse output for the servo
Also, we will configure analog input-output
as per our project,
we have only
one servo
that's why we configure only axis 1, our servo pulse is 10,000 = 1 rotation,
Maximum Speed pulse for my case
200,0000
so pulse and analog io configure finished
No error
Now let's start to make ladder logic
for control of a VFD and Servo
Device monitoring confirmed
FOR VFD Program
=================
DA= SD6180,SD6181
forCh1, DA = SD6181
and 6180
if mov 4000 digital val to SD6181 and 6180, then the analog output will be 10vdc
6181 only for read
not support write
so, 4000 = 10vdc = 50hz
0 = 0vdc = 0hz
we use rpm calculation, like, val 2x2000 rpm = 4000 digital val
ADCh2= SD6060, SD6061,SD6062
SM400 = always ON, plc run to ON
now we read feedback and
display in
SD6060=D10,
SD6061=D11,
D6062 =D12,
VFD Program finished
FOR Servo Program
=================
we used output y0=pls
y1 = Sign
PLSY = 16bit instruction for pls output
DPLSY = 32bit instruction
D200 = Servo Speed command
D202 = Servo Position Command
M100 = for DPLSY Command Start Stop
M101 = Servo Direction Change
Now let's try to Simulate
Next, We will check this program
on a FX5U PLC
thanks for watching,,,
to be continued,,,
Mitsubishi GX Works2 is a software suite used for programming Mitsubishi programmable logic controllers (PLCs). It provides a user-friendly interface for developing, testing, and maintaining programs for various Mitsubishi PLCs. FX,
Mitsubishi Electric offers a wide range of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to suit various industrial automation needs. Some of the popular PLC series from Mitsubishi Electric include:
MELSEC FX Series: This series is known for its compact size and affordability, making it suitable for small to medium-sized applications. It offers a range of models with different capabilities to meet various requirements.
MELSEC L Series: The L Series PLCs are designed for mid-range applications and offer advanced features such as built-in Ethernet connectivity, high-speed processing, and expandability options.
MELSEC Q Series: The Q Series PLCs are high-performance controllers suitable for large-scale and complex automation systems. They offer advanced functionality, extensive I/O options, and high-speed processing capabilities.
MELSEC iQ-R Series: The iQ-R Series PLCs are Mitsubishi Electric's latest generation of controllers, offering advanced performance, scalability, and reliability. They feature multi-CPU architecture, high-speed processing, and seamless integration with other automation devices.
MELSEC iQ-F Series: The iQ-F Series PLCs are compact controllers designed for small to mid-sized applications. They offer built-in Ethernet and USB connectivity, as well as a wide range of I/O options.
Each series comes with its own software programming environment, with GX Works2 being a common platform used for programming Mitsubishi PLCs. These PLCs are widely used in various industries such as manufacturing, automotive, energy, and more, due to their reliability, performance, and flexibility.
Version 3 sounds like a newer iteration or update of the software suite, likely with additional features, improvements, or bug fixes compared to the previous version. If you're using GX Works2-3, it's advisable to consult the documentation or release notes to understand the specific enhancements or changes introduced in this version.
