Thanks for the video! If anyone is having trouble with the reverse button, and getting nowhere, try hitting the forward. I've been hitting the reverse for a while, no changed. I redid it, and within hitting the forward button 3 or 4 times it worked.

@@davidhanes1764 Hi David, I know this remote, it should work. Remove a battery, press 1 on your remote for 20 seconds and try the steps again. Press the TV button first and then the power button press and hold the 2 buttons until the light lights uo and do the steps

Hi, yes, you can press DVD/VCR option and the power button and follow the steps, make sure you remote is reset first.

I've had my RCA universal remote for about five years and it has been such a pain in the battery compartment. When I first got it, I dropped it and the plastic housing cracked, which caused the battery compartment to be misaligned as far as the battery contacts (the spring and spiral). When it loses contact you have to slowly turn the batteries until the contact properly touches again which is indicated by the red light coming back on. I have tried everything to stabilize the batteries from tape to hot wax. I have several old cellphones, so I think that's what I'm going to do.

i have an Emerson tv model slc195em8 and the remote will program it to turn on but then the remote will not turn it off or retrieve any tv picture characteristics perhaps another code is needed for it to fully function it was turned on with code search since the code list would not activate anything; how do I continue the code search to possibly fine another(fully functional) code after the first found code activates turns on?

Hi, there is no other code, you have to press on the TV button every time you want to use the remote to turn it on or off, try that. This universal remote provides only basic functions, it's not like an original.

I did this one time for my tv but sometimes you have to be patience you could go through over 100 button pressings to get to your code cause it goes through each code & you have to keep doing it until your tv comes on or whatever especialy if your code is the last one.... I think if it is the type i remember.

Hi, 1- Turn on your Sharp TV, 2:On the remote control, press the TV button - Step 3: Point the remote control toward the TV . Punch in the first three digit code number assigned to your brand from the brand code. You have to try these codes one at a time until you get the one working, only one will work: 170 081 019 028 029 014 004 022 143 If a code doesn't turn off your TV, go to the next one. The device will turn off when the correct code has been selected. Step 4: Once TV turns off, press the TV button again to store the code.
