If you are wondering how this works, a return water line is installed near the faucet farthest from the water heater. The return line is connected to the pump and flows the water back into the water heater. It creates a continuous loop of slow moving hot water. Then when you turn on your faucet or shower, you have ready hot water. If you have a new pump just installed make sure there is water in the line before you turn on the pump.
Grundfos 599388 Timer is designed only for use with specified Grundfos Series UP circulators installed in indoor hot water service systems. Applicable Series UP models include all single speed UP 10-15, 1-phase, 115 volt, 60 hertz pumps with date codes of 0528 and higher.
The Grundfos Timer control is designed to turn the circulator on and off at preset times, allowing the user to select operation of the circulator during high use periods of the day.

•Contact Rating: 16 amps;
•Ambient Temperature: -4F to 175F;
•Shortest Switching Interval: 15 minute increment;

I think my timer is broken. Is there a way to remove the timer altogether so I can just use an external timer at the outlet?

in the video to set the timer , the instructor forgot to turn the switch to timer before closing the cover.

If you want "Always on".....you can't just set the middle switch to 1 (always "on"....the other two positions being 0...always off...or "middle", controlled by timer)....right? I believe if you want it on all the time, you ALSO have to move ALL the outside-circle timer tabs toward the outside....to be always "ON" at their respective time intervals....right?

If you have the switch set to ON then the pump will run regardless of the timer since it's no longer engaged. Once you switch to the middle for TIMER then it will be in line with the tabs chosen.

I don’t understand running it at night. If you are not using hot water at night while you sleep what is the point of running it at night?
