do you have an update? sometimes they don’t end up growing vines

You well need a node to grow leaves. I have heard vines growing from just a leaf but it took over 5 years if ever.

Yes the plastic bag will help keep humidity up while the plant propagates

Hoyas are slow growing and it can take awhile for the cuttings to produce roots.

My guess would be that it isn’t getting enough light. Put it somewhere where it will get more light and see what happens.

The Hoya on the table us a Hoya Carnosa Krimson Princess aka Tricolor aka Rubra. Very common hoya but one of my favorites for sure. Most of the single node cuttings he is planting in the video are reverted. The Plant farm is a wonderful place to buy plants from. I have bought a few online.

The Hoya used in the video is a Crimson Princess. The more humidity and the more light you have after planting your cuttings, often times the faster your Hoya will root.

We use an all-purpose potting mix for all of our plants.

You know how i got roots very quickly ? I put sphagnum moss (which was a little bit wet) around the Eye and a little bit around the stem, and then in a zip lock... From time to time every 2. or third day you let Air in the zip lock. The roots love the moss

Water props grow water roots. Then once planted the plant then has to grow soil roots. Water propping is very slow for any plant. Long fiber sphagnam moss is really the only way to go. With vining plants I get roots within a few days. 4inch roots in under 20 days. Variegated Compactas are super slow and I wouldnt prop in water

It all depends on the environment it's in. Make sure It’s getting bright indirect light. This particular Hoya is very slow growing so it can take a while to develop roots.

No, it is not soil, it is a heat pack to keep the plant warm, if we have to send it in colder weather. Just discard it.
