He does have quality advice on lifting and he always has. It’s just a shame he never admitted the truth about his gear use. If he did I think he still would be popular and probably more respected
It's a fairly new thing from what I've seen lately. I've also been lifting as long. I was looking for hammer variations and came across a few videos with the bent wrist movement. Never saw this variation till recent.
Similar to how a lot of people tilt their wrists back at the top of a standard curl (which helps to concentrate on the contraction/flex).... People do hammers similar, tilting the wrists downward on the upper half of the movement to where the knuckles are aimed forward at the top, even if the forearm is at 30+ degrees... I do this with both standard and hammers, although normally with lighter weight, and I keep them fairly straight with heavier weight. I NEVER curl my wrists upward though, I know that used to be popular, especially on barbell and EZbar curls...
Wow, you got a nice pump didn't you. How many times have you hit them since? Once a week? Twice? I'm hitting body parts HARD just twice a month. This way I stay super fresh and promote recovery and dedicate more time to diet and stretching. Thanks
This might be a stupid question but am I supposed to lift the weight with my hands or curl the weight with my elbows? Or do I curl the weight with my biceps? Or curl my forearms up?
Some of this was definitely good important stuff, BUT that whole thing he said about people leaving their wrist in an ulnar deviated position is a straight up lie. I’ve never single a single soul do that. Why would they, it’s so uncomfortable. So half of this video was just him trying to flex knowledge that is essentially useless to most people who workout or want to workout. Lol still good info overall though and still a fuckinf legend
Most bodybuilders you can notice the muscle through their shirts but I have never seen veins noticeable through under the shirt think about it that's crazy
Mike may have caught a fair bit of shit for being old school and not talking about stacks. But really nobody did until very recently. He’s such a wealth of knowledge. And if I had to choose a bodybuilder physique for aspirational purposes it would 100% be his. I’m not really into that sport, so I’ll never end up on the same field as him, but I respect the hell out of his work and his ability to calmly transmit his years of experience.
think about how you brace for dips. the way you grip the bar is square. you must think balance in order to have a complete stretch and contraction that promotes true stability, control, mobility and dexterity.
This sucks to hear since my left wrist is torn to bits 😅. Knowing I'll never be as strong as I know i could be hurts deep, but that aint gonna stop me. Thank you for Hearn
