What's the logic behind having the computer on for 30 mins before removing it?
@PE4Doers
@PE4Doers 3 года назад
When the Thermal Compound is 'Warm' it comes off MUCH easier. I am one of the "statistics' who experienced a CPU pulled out of the socket and some of the CPU pins winding up bent by a PGA socket when removing the cooler.

5min option is turn on a app to monitor temps and then a basic stress option like with CPUz. Unplug the fan and simply monitor temps. Let it climb to around 75c and then stop the software stress and shut down pc. Promptly uninstall the cooler and remember to still twist and slide the cooler a bit just in case your thermal compound is holding on tight even after being warmed up. Key is to just monitor tempts and keep them in the 70’s max to stay in a very safe range. I did pull my 2700x out of the socket but luckily no damage and used it for another year or so before selling it for $100.

Hi I know it may seem like a dumb question I’m thinking of upgrading my cpu fan cooler … when cleaning the cpu with alcohol should I take the cpu out or leave it in and clean it?
@PE4Doers
@PE4Doers 2 года назад
Leave it in. That is the best way to avoid damaging any of the pins. Some old paste may creep into the sides, but unless you have way too much there, that should not be a problem. Try pushing it in from the ends toward the middle of the CPU as you clean it. take a little off at a time if there is a lot toward the edges. This may be something worth a separate video.
