Funniest video I’ve seen from you yet. But everything you said about restringing was spot on.I’ve got the same tools from music nomad as well. The octopus is part of my gig kit - great for tightening loose jack nuts, tuning peg nuts, pedal jack nuts, in addition to the screw driver usage. Great tool and F1 oil is very good - it’s the only oil I know of that is free of lemon extracts, so it is safe on all UNFINISHED fretboards: rosewood, ebony and Maple - and it works very well. the 2-1/2 string length rule is great too! I stretch my strings as a wind them so when they’re at pitch there very little fluctuation as they settle in. Thanks for the tips Buddy! Definitely do more. You forget the red velvet smoking robe though.
It’s really relaxing whenever I get to change the strings on my guitars. I take my sweet time, to the point where my wife says (sarcastically) “I wish you treat me the same as you do with your guitars!” Haha 😂 jealousy, anyone?? Lol great video Buddy!!!! Btw-I’m planning on buying either a Les Paul Std or PRS S2 McCarthy 594. Any suggestions on which to get?? Thanks in advance.
I am not a PRS guy at all, so my preference would always be the Gibson route. You just gotta fine "the right one" with Gibson. They are hit or miss at times.. more hit than miss these days though. That being said PRS are amazingly crafted guitars

Fyi I just got myself a LP Trad Pro V 2019....man, I gotta say, it was a hit as soon as I played it at my local Guitar Center, Chaise was very helpful and answered all my questions. No idea why I watched this really, other than to gee myself up to finally restring my guitars - when the strings go dead, I just pick another guitar until that one is dead too but now I've run out of guitars and have to restring four at once. Sigh. Might as well get on with it though. BTW, you struggled with the manual string winder because you used the part of it that's intended for those big paddle tuners on a bass. The small notches are for normal little guitar tuners. Enjoyed the clip though, even if it still hasn't really motivated me to restring anything ;)
Was hoping you would show the way rene Martinez ( srvs tech ) does vintage tuners...he doesn't go in the hole he somehow ties it and apparently it doesn't slip out of tune...there is a video of him showing it on Mayers 1964 strat but quality is horrible I've been searching for a lesson
Very important question, can I substitute the tobacco pipe for a cigar? I feel like the combination with whiskey is critical to the restringing process and I really don’t wanna mess this up! 🤣
