Finally found the video for my dryer door. The delivery guy told me it could be reversed but I'm just getting to it almost a year later. Thanks so much, You're and awesome!! Got a great tutorial along with some eye candy 😉
All of the hinge screws are stripping on mine. One with an electric screwdriver. The others with a normal larger Philip's Head. I don't even know what to do now.
@@MichaelSmith-yo6ex You needed a bigger Philips or tip of the electric and I did mine without electric, if you do, only use the to unscrew or to screw in most of it then tighten with Philips. if your screws are stripped then unless you find replacements you may be in trouble
Was on hold for 35 minutes with Best Buy trying to schedule to have this done. Transferred 3 different times. Watched the video while on hold and hung up. Had this done in less than 20 minutes because of this video!! Thank you for saving me the headache and frustration!!
Thank you so so 💓 much for the easy straight to the point video. I'm single and couldn't get anyone to help me with this small project. I DID IT MYSELF because of you...
The perfect video. Love that you show when it may take a bit of force or wiggling to get the job done. Feels better to see someone do it first. Keep up the great work
Nice walk through. Quick note, there are 4 pry points to make it easier to separate after screw removal. They're faintly marked, (2 on top, 2 on the bottom) It only takes a slight pry with a flathead. You will need to apply some pressure to snap back together. Happy reversal!
I call myself a little MacGyver. I was about to pay $70 (The rip off price) to Best Buy to remove some screws and flip it around. Mind you, I paid $30 for an install. I watched this easy video, cancelled my appointment, installed it myself, and saved my cash for something more enjoyable. Thank you for the assistance of continuing to trust myself, save some money and not getting ripped off.
Dang ya that's ridiculous price...I didn't even think about having someone else do it I figured it was made like this so the avg owner could switch it around themselves
The door latch at 3:43 helped me. I didn't realize it fit in between the parts. I had it on top and was struggling to button things up that way. Thanks a lot.
I did the same thing. It didn't result in trouble "buttoning things up" for me though. The result is that the door doesn't stay tight against the seals when shut and the closed door switch would shut off the dryer a few seconds into the cycle.
@@TheAppliancePlug You have no idea! She’s been dealing with it for a while. I finally had enough and decided to do something about it. I came across your very much helpful video. I was proud of myself afterwards. 😂
Just a tip for anyone doing this. Be really careful when separating the door pieces, the inner edges are quite sharp and I cut my finger pretty badly when trying to separate.
Also read and proceeded to slice finger. lol. That being said - there are clips on the doors. two on each side. so just ramming it could snap those - a flat head with slight inward pressure will release them and door comes off easy. Figured this out after 15 minutes off scratching my head and cutting myself. 😎
I need to do this for my dryer. I thought "I'll go on RU-vid and see if there is one". This video was first suggestion, and it will be the LAST suggestion because it perfectly details how to do the swap. Easy Peasy! Thank you very much for this video!
Thank you for this video. You made this a 15 min task instead of an hour or 2 trying to figure it out on my own without a manual. Keep up the great work :)
Many thanks my man! Sort of thought I needed to take the door apart but feel much more confident after watching this! Great info and to the point. 👍🏼👍🏼
Our dryer was on the wrong. side of the washer as far as being able to open the door properly, but washer connections prevented us from swapping them around. It was always a pain to squeeze in the side and put in clothes to dry. Then we discovered this video!! Thank you so much and such an easy swap. Life is easier now on the correct side of the dryer door!! Thanks again:)
Just got the barebones trim of this dryer last week and noticed tonight while I was doing laundry that the door looked like it could be reversed - thank you for confirming my suspicions and providing a handy visual guide of the process!
Thanks so much for this. I used another video at first. It did not have instructions like this. I thought the door was a waste and called Samsung and looked on the internet to try to find a replacement door. By chance I came across this video. You saved time and money!!
Your video was very helpful in changing my daughter's dryer door. I was worried when I removed the screws but the glass door did not come off because of the two clips at the top and bottom. The user manual didn't mention the clips and I was worried if I forced it off I would be breaking something. Your video explained the clips and reduced my concerns. Success! Thank you.
Another good tip, I learned the hard way- lay a blanket or something soft down if your dryer doesnt have the window, otherwise you’ll scratch the crap out of your paint on the door. Even one with the window, might get some scratches on the edges. If that’s something that’d bother you, then take my advice. Great video! Felt better about doing it in my own after watching! Now no more reaching around the door to throw stuff in the dryer! Yay!
Awesome advice Johna! Thanks for tuning in! That is a really good tip. I'm always looking for fresh ideas. Do you have any specific video requests or topics you'd like me to dive into next?"
This video just made my life 1,000 times easier 😮💨 we just got our new dryer delivered and only noticed after they left that the door opened on the wrong side. Found this video on a Google search and had this done in no time. Thank you SO MUCH!!!
Thanks for the video! Just a tip for everyone doing this I had the most trouble with the screws for the hinges. They were extra stubborn and did not go back in on the other side easily. I would recommend screwing them in slowly for an easier fit on the other side before doing it with the door Bec I rounded one of them. It’s on snug and tight now though
Exactly the video I needed. I of course like most men, had my door half torn apart before I thought I should maybe look up some videos. Lol. Simple and concise explanation. Thanks so much.
Extremely helpful. It took me 20 minutes to reverse the hinge myself. I probably would have been on hold longer than that trying to get Lowes back out to do it. (The delivery person did not know how or pretended he didn't know how to reverse the hinges.)
Thanks so much for this my bro. Taking stuff apart is easy but putting it back together is where I am always shakey lol. The part where you showed how the inside clips back in was especially useful to me because I would've probably broken it trying to put it back together without it. Got the job done without issues, thanks!
Glad to hear! I appreciate you.. let me know if you have any appliance projects you need any clarification on or questions regarding best options to purchase. Always glad to help!
I’m a plumber so I’m pretty good with figuring things out , I got the door off but then was a little hesitant about taking a bunch of screws out that I didn’t know what they did after about 3/4 of this video in 15 minutes. I accomplished a task. Thank you very much for this video.
No problem! Glad I was able to help you out there. These kind of things can be a little daunting because you don't want your dryer to be not assembled properly.
Thank you so much for providing this tutorial on how to do this. I've had my dryer for eight years and never knew you could flip the doors till about a month ago!
Much appreciative for the video! With most of the door being made of plastic, I was worried that I missed a clip or screw somewhere and didn’t want to break something. All I needed was a bit more pressure and a skinny flathead screwdriver to pop the tabs on the top and bottom.
@@TheAppliancePlug ironically, with the new addition we are doing to our house, the dryer is going to be moved and it’s new location will require me to switch the door around again 🤦♂️🤪
Thanks, it was so helpful for this handy-gal. Good to know that there are two slots at the top and two slots on the bottom to release the inside piece and the outside piece of the door. ❤️
Thank you for the tutorial! I had no idea how to do this, and where I'm putting it, I needed to reverse the door. This video helped me so much! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for this video. Our dryer just broke and the door opened top to bottom. Just purchases a new samsung w/d set and I didn't realize the door opened left to right. Now I can easily (hopefuly LOL) change it to fit my needs to open right to left! Thank you!!
Great video. I watched it first so I can understand the entire process. Will get to this in the next couple of days. The video will be my guide. Very helpful and straightforward.
We got our dryer secondhand almost a year ago. My better half has been so busy working so hard and couldn't get to it yet. I kept looking at it and thinking, I bet I could do it! So I looked for a video and finally found this one 😁 thank you so much - it was super easy changing it over!!!
My wife and I just bought a new dryer after our old one when to the great laundromat in the sky. I reversed the door just now. It was really easy. The only trouble I had was getting the door back on. One of the screws didn’t want to go back on but I finally got it. Thanks for this video.
Did it myself this morning before watching this video lol! I used a screwdriver rather than a drill though. Easy peasy! But is SO much more convenient since my dryer is to the left of my washer, so the dryer door opening to the right was OBNOXIOUS!
This was an awesome easy video-- THANK YOU! You broke it down and made it just as easy at it appears. This is a great video & I would recommend your videos to others looking for solutions to appliance challenges!
Thank you so much Dave! That would be awesome! If you ever have a question about any appliance needs in the future don't hesitate to reach out to me or The Appliance Plug!
Amazing video, thank you! I have the user manual to my appliances (just got them about two weeks ago), but the latter stages of what to do with the door weren't very clear. I had hoped the QR code on the back of the manual would take me specifically to their video on how to do this, but that just took me to their RU-vid channel's homepage and it was up to ke to sort through and find the video, lol. A search on "How to switch Samsung dryer door" brought up your video first. Your steps were very clear and helped me understand the portion where you take the glass covering off. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this video. It was so helpful to me. My wife has been wanting me to reverse the door for months. I finally did it today. So easy. And now I'm not in the dog house anymore. Thanks again.
Thank you for this! The men who came to install my new washer and dryer were basically looking to get in and out as gay as they could. While they did hook up my machines properly, when I asked them about switching the door orientation, they claimed it wasn't just of their job (even though I know most installers will do this). We've just lived with the door opening on the wrong side for us for months now. Today, though, I watched your video and had it switched within 20 minutes. Yay!
Thanks for the video! Was a big help. Careful with those clips when taking this apart everyone. Make sure and watch the whole video. And watch the sharp edges 😮
Great video. After I finished my dryer works only for 5 minutes and then stops, are there any resets that need to be done after reversing the door? So it works full cycle.
Thank you! There isn't a reset needed. There can be a number of reasons why the cycle is ending after 5 mins. If it is related to the door reversal, then it is possible that the dryer thinks the door is open which is ending the cycle. This will happen if your door is not latching properly. You would want to go back through the steps specifically containing the door latch steps. Make sure everything was secured properly as well so the door is closing smoothly. It can also be coincidentally and has nothing to do with the door reversal. A clogged vent can also end a cycle. The way to test that is to run a manual cycle bypassing sensors. Let me know if this helps and solves your issue!
Thanks so much for this! It helped me reverse the door to make it easier to move my loads from the washer. However, I bought mine used and when I switched my door everything went as in this video except when reattaching the door. The bottom screws didn’t secure the dryer door to the dryer. Is there anything you suggest?
Thanks for doing this video This was honestly a LOT harder than it should have been The hinge screws like to strip and aren’t threaded very well into the unit
