Don’t buy bell that’s my advice bell don’t make big helmets very well I’ve had 4 and they all didn’t fit right go for a ARAI if you are over a L you won’t regret it
@@Dani-ir3pz As a rep for Helmet House, Bell puts Arai to shame. The DLX series is known to fit strange but they also offer S/M and M/L sizes as well as up to 4x. You get MIPS with bell and theyre both similar in price. Aria is expensive but only because they are "hand made" and they have more than one shell shape option. but more than 60% of the helmet is still made in a factory. Bell has magnetic cheek pads so no more snapping pads in. All the DLX's come with a self tinting pro shields (if ur dealer isnt a d!ck.) Aria is still nice but there's better helmets that are the same price but safer, quieter, and have more options *cough RF-1400 cough*
He forgot to mention that they break in. When you try it on in the store it might feel like a vice grip but a few months later it will fit comfortably.
@@islander959 well I suppose it depends on how much you ride/use it. I used my bike as my daily transportation and it took about a month for it to break in fully.
@@epicray8434i used it daily for half a year and it was still as tight as 'yk' it feels better without them at all. but i ride a moped wich goes just 45 kmh/≈20mph so i don't care about it
@@Damiantjuh I recommend a helmet all the time although that makes me hypocrite. I once highsided (where the back tire losses traction and the bike lunches you into the air) and I was only going about 20-25mph but my body flew about 10 feet and i landed head first and I extinctly remember the side of my head literally bouncing off the ground and thinking "wow my head bounced alot". 100% would of been dead or a vegetable if I didn't have a helmet on.
@@adityyuhHow long have you been having it? I bought a large because the medium felt too tight. Now my large is way loose after wearing it for about 4 months.
That’s the year I got an Arai too. Wasn’t planing on spending that much, but once I made the mistake of trying a Quantum F on there was no way I wasn’t buying one. Luckily got a good sale price.
My dad taught me how to size a helmet about the same way when I started, great job helping people understand safety.. we can have fun and get home in 1 piece too
I think I've seen something where people put a rubber band around the a certain spot on the cheek pads It pulls it in, so you have two little channels where you can slide the stocks of your glasses in to and over your ears.
Your head shape matters more than the measurements I have measured my head so many times and the helmet size I bought off of the size chart was always wrong
My helmet just saved my life 5 months ago not my fault there lifesavers please don't buy a cheap one u should pay at least $150 give or take I got mine for $500 😉.. Invest on a good helmet u never now......
I once had a accident while riding a underbone bike,i got side sweep by a van..my head hit the road ang may left hand scrape, luckily im wearing a helmet (ls2) and a gloves.always wear your gears and it will save you
Keep in mind it should be a little tight at the start, as the pads will get softer after a couple of uses. And after you wash it. If you are in between sizes, choose the smaller size
The guy who sold me my helmet did tell me stuff like this but just like with the questions I'm asked at a doctors office, I never know how I feel 😭 I'm glad I can return the helmet I ended up buying if it doesn't fit.
Just bought my first helmet today... im a 4 xl... yeah big noggin. 😂 also, just bought my first bike too. 2009 Harley V Rod Muscle. Took me 3 years to decide and get one.
And don't forget head shape. Most of ya'll will be fine, some of us have a long ass damn head and have very few choices for a comfortable helmet since there's only a few that make long ovals....
I couldn't fit any helmet because of the shape of my big ass head. Wide cheekbones and slanted forehead meaning something that fit horizontally was to big vertically. Eventually I had settled with an airoh st 501 in the L size. There's a little bit wiggle room but it fits snugly nonetheless.
Even if you followed head measurements, every helmet manufacturers seems like have different standards to their helmet size. This guy underlining the importance of helmet fitting is good advice. Go to helmet store and try a bunch of helmet, also ask for guidance there.
My helmet is so romantic, it hugs my face like hell, I look like gigachad. And I also have to remove it every 40 or something minutes, cuz my hair start irritating
I have ZERO EXPERIENCE!! I bought a new ninja 500, the guy sold me a large helmet and now that it's broke in. It's a little loose. I had the absolute worse experience buying a new motorcycle from the dealership. I told these people multiple times I had no experience. They didn't try to fit me on the bike, didn't give me any advice on maintenance. They acted like they didn't care. Added a 2k lifetime warranty that I didn't want.
Wish they made long oval AGVs. I'm stuck with 2 or 3 brands because of my stupid head shape. Shoei makes the Signet but I really don't care for the look of Signet's. All the really good helmets are round and intermediate oval that lean closer to round.
Got a question for anyone willing to answer measured my head today it’s 25 inches should I get a 3xl or 2xl figured that 1/8 would just make it feel super tight on my face
Wish i saw this before i bought my first helmet the other day, the salesman did an alright job it seems, feels snug everywhere right now, cant get any fingers in the forehead, and if i pull down on it my eyes are not covered, but if i shake my head hard i can get it to move around a bit. Hope its not too big.
Ok. I need some advice... I bought an S size helmet, shoei rf1400, and it doesn't move to the sides , and neither can I fit 2 fingers on the forehead, but if i move it up and down, it's another story, it goes up and down very easily... wrong size helmet? Or is it fine? I measured the head, and it gave me the S size
Also check what shape head you have! Trying on a helmet in the store won't help with getting sore forehead after a 20 minute ride. I've had issues with both my helmets, due to the shape. It would be great if manufacturers did different shapes
What should I do if I bought Way too big helmet (no I didn't choose by the looks like I was in a shop and an employee helped me out. She said if it's uncomfortable we should go to large helmet because probably the medium is too little for me. I didn't checked my size because I was just wandering and wanted to buy my helmet I was too much excited. Sooooo the employee give me a big one I wasn't sure about it because it was already moving in my head then She said it's fine it's just the modell design. I bought it because I am too amatour and they refusing to Give me a refund because once it's used they cannot take it back because the hygne.)? 😅 Is there anyway to make it Better oooor just spend an another 300? It's an LS2. Is it Okay to ride with it?
I am more than convinced there are plenty of agv pista clad riders on the roads who’s helmets do not fit properly. That being said, if you’ve ever watched Jorge Martin put his helmet on in the paddock, you cannot tell me that mf is snug enough.
he says big ass head as im looking for an extra small, (im 25 at 130 lbs 5'8" inter oval) like ok buddy i dont need that positivity i know i have a small ass head
This is great, but even following this I couldn’t find a full face that fit my big ass head. I wear a 7 3/4 - 8 hat and most brands here don’t go that big 😢
yeah no- go to a store and find what fits perfectly and note down that size and then pick whatever design in your helmet size you want. what i did and i love my helmet 😤
I already have my size I just measured my own head 😅 but now what is the best website to buy a helmet. I'm going to buy the helmet first then my jacket and gloves and after all that I'll buy the motorcycle.
Meanwhile my ass with a long ponytail that I bring up and over my head to my nose and tuck in: If I ever cut my hair my ass is gonna be using it as an excuse to buy a new helmet. I'm 2XL with my hair tucked away for safety, but an XL without my hair up....
helmets, especially japanese version just needs to stop naming it like barcodes, its turning customers like me away, meanwhile europe versions have cool names, then with either name slapped so big on the back of the helmet, one of them making it seem to have a liability issue after 1 or 2 years of use, and the other one would just age like fine wine.
Or no helmet because you certainly don't buy a motorcycle because you want to be safe the main reason I like a motorcycle is so when I put headphones on I can actually hear shit.. and when you get caught in the rain it stings I don't like that
I got a weird noggin. I had to play around with the padding in my ACH for like an hour before figuring out how to make it sit right and be snug on my head.
i bought a motocross helmet and when tried on in the store it was thight and good sized but now after months, its gotten loose that if i shake my jead itll wiggle. is tjere anyway i can fix that and make it thighter again?
You don’t always measure just above the eyebrows. Different manufacturers have different ways of measuring. Head shape is just as important as circumference, too, so determining if you’re head is round, an intermediate oval, or ovular should be done, as well.
@@adobomoto yep. There are ways to measure your head to find out what shape it is, though. I forget the formula, but you can find it online if you look for it. That’s what I did, because I couldn’t find anyone in central arkansas with a Corsair x I could try on. I found the pista gt Rr and the x14, but nobody seemed to have the arai I ultimately went with. I hate it here in Arkansas, sometimes. 😂
All brands are different so a Large Bell might be too tight but yet a Normal Shoei could feel a little looser. There’s also oval and circle head shapes for helmets so you need to figure out which one you are. Go to a helmet shop and try a bunch on
