Learn how to store multiple phone numbers for each customer in your Microsoft Access databases using a one-to-many relationship and a subform. The same technique applies whether you have phone numbers, emails, addresses, etc.
Curtis from Denver CO (a Silver Member) asks: In your classes you show adding one phone number for each customer, but I have a situation where a customer may have anywhere from 1 to 10 or more phone numbers. Do I make Phone1, Phone2, etc.? What's the best way to handle this?

Great minds think alike. :) This is actually basic relationships 101 with a one-to-many relationship, but I never really addressed it this way in my classes.

I'm going to cry, I followed these steps and it pulls all of the phone numbers in to every customer? What did I miss? I literally did this 10 times over 2 hours.

Hi, I was designing a Table for OP days for my clinic data automation. Unit-1 is on "Monday and Thursday", Unit-2 is on "Tuesday and Friday", Unit-3 is on "Wednesday and Saturday". How do I build a query with "Switch "function so that when enter 1,2 or 3, it automatically returns the respective days.

Am building a Welfare database and a member can enlist 1 or more child as beneficiaries/dependants. Would you recommend separating the table specifically for children OR have columns for each child's info in the main table?

I would recommend put everyone together in the same table (it's the same type of entity: a person). Then you could have a field indicating who this person's Parent is. It's called a SELF-JOIN. See: 599cd.com/SelfJoin

sir teach us how to put the education subjects one by one yo 4 text boxes separately from subjects combobox on click or selection by choice. for example maths english physics chemistry etc combobox on choice for example chemistry to subject1 another selection to subject2 as well. selection by choice not by sort

I'm not quite sure I understand your question. Are you trying to filter results based on a selection in a combo box?

no sir i mean to say a student database. every student have multiple subjects and entering in database. one combobox containing all subjects names and there are 3 or 4 subjects textboxes name subject1 subject2 subject3. now i select one subject that goto subject1 textbox. another selection to subject2 and subject3 too. the main point i dont want create 3 comboboxes for one student. i want make one main subjects combobox and want update in 3 textboxes.

You want to assign 3 subjects to one student? You need a many-to-many relationship with a junction table. A student can have multiple subjects, and each subject can be assigned to multiple students. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9BTTQEtWw5Y.html

It's not quite that easy. You could make a query that combines the two. A more advanced option would be to use DLookup. I've actually got a video about this on my list. Stay tuned.
