Struggling to make the LFO do what you want on the Moog Grandmother?
Here I share with you some possible ways to tame this lazy oscillator.

Thank you for doing more than Moog didn’t do . This is much better and although the intervals aren’t really adjustable it’s nice to have more sync for the lfo ! 🙏👽✌️

Great vid man, very entertaining! I use Pam’s New Workout to do the same with my Matriarch, loadsa fun. Especially when you start messing with Euclidean rhythms.

This lead me to the conclusion that this kind of synchronization, sped up, is the same Hard Sync! The modulation section can therefore be used for hard sync as well as the second oscillator 🤩

nice one ! i managed this with a audiowerkstatt triger2midi2trigger and a SQ1. but: when you play a note with the arp on in your installment, there is a noticeable delay on the first downbeat incontrast when you're not in arp mode ? asking this cause i dont get this managed (DIN clocked too by very stable clock).

Thanks!Latency can be an annoying problem, if using a DAW as clock source a friend of mine solved it via this device: Expert sleepers - Usamo. When I am DAWless using the beatstep pro as master clock, feeding it into the Elektron Analog Rytm and then to the Grandmother I cannot hear a noticeable delay between the beat from the Rytm and the ARP. Something that feels like latency (but is not) happens sometimes when I am not very precise when pressing the keys (actually when I press them a bit too late) and it skips the downbeat. Have you tried pressing the keys in ARP mode a little before the downbeat?

@@solarj im clocking with usamo, too. ... it's very strange that pressing a key in arp mode on matriarch is not on the grid, but when i press it on my masterkeyboard it is ?..?

Hey - is it possible to do the ultimate way on a Mother 32 as well? Is there an equivalent of the "sync in" on the Mother 32? Thanks!

I am not sure as I don’t own a mother32 but I would guess it is possible given the semi modular nature of the mother. Sorry can’t answer really.

Any idea what Is the most straight forward way to send an exact tempo to the GM not using a daw ?

The GM has a CLOCK IN input in the back but that will only sync the arp and the seq. It accepts -5V to +5V. If we want to sync the LFO we are stuck with using the SYNC IN as explained in the video :/

I am having such a difficult time syncing the sequencer of GM to my Roland TR-08 drum machine. I got it to work perfectly one time, and since then I've tried everything to recreate but it's always out of time. Can you cover getting the sequencer to pair with an external clock?? This is the only thing holding me back from endless jams.

Will this work with any sequencer that has cv output? I need this functionality and am looking at getting a sequencer, but I have not owned one before and I know very little about them.

Yes it should, safer to get on e that outputs 5V but also 10V should be fine - maybe not for prolonged use?
