“You should love what you do” period! Every hour of the day definitely does not need to be taken up by work. It’s so hard being a content creator & separating scrolling for fun & scrolling to get ideas for videos 😮‍💨 definitely need to learn to separate those!

Totally know how you feel! Usually at night I’ll be on social media just for fun (mainly RU-vid) and during the day, I’ll be on there for business 💖

hey queen!! omg yess protecting your mental health as a content creator is so much needed!! i try to work away from my bed. sometimes i need to separate that too. yes no one tells us what time to leave. girl i’m always keeping myself busy i need to have a better schedule! yes i’m loving what i do. and yes i love seeing what i’ve done! yes it is a different feeling. this is why i haven’t been vlogging all the time. yesss you deserve those days to have off!! yes your mental health matters the most!!

I get myself into the bad habit of- If I’m not keeping busy, then I think I’m doing something wrong. A schedule has definitely helped me with that 💗. I want to vlog more- but I just get caught up in the moment and it feels like work to bring out the camera while I’m out away from work. Especially being an only child- I feel guilty taking away from the moment with my family 💕. Yaaaas mental health is so so so important 🧠💖

Oof the do not work from your bed is such a good one!! I used to edit on my bed but now i strictly edit on a desk 😮‍💨 like you said it keeps that separation from work & home life! 🙌🏽

Plus it’s way more comfier editing at a desk 🙌🏻! And you can keep all your work thoughts at the desk and leave them there when you’re done 💖

Remember ‘self employed’ is still work. And with every job, time off is necessary. So that the workers will have the energy to keep going at their job. You deserve days off bestie ✨💖!

Great topic! Mental health is so extremely important. Really great tips, Kari. We all need to balance work and personal life. I tend to be a work-acholic sometimes and need to tell myself to take a break. I've gotten a lot better at it because I love spending time with my children, and they grow up so fast that I don't want to miss anything. Great video!

Guilty of being a Workaholic here too 🙋🏼‍♀️. Creating a schedule for myself has really helped me- at least when I follow it 😅. I can’t wait to have kids one-day 🥹. I hope to still be making videos when that day comes 💕. One day when I have kiddos- I’ll have to learn how to balance both. But your kiddos should always be a top priority- they need you the most 💕

I like to call "mental health" "Emotional Sanity" because I personally think that mental is a bad word because I have autism and some people think of it as a mental illness which is NOT. My emotional sanity has gotten better which is good.❤💖

Loved these tips, girly! I always struggle with working full-time and creating content on the side, so your advice will definitely come in handy for me :) Totally agree about not working from your bed or room! I always make an effort to do work from my dining room, basement, or another room in my house when I'm working on content to avoid invading my safe space! I struggle so hard with taking time off and clocking out, but you're so right that creators deserve a break too! I get a break with my normal job and should with content creation too! Over the past few years, I've learned not to feel bad about taking breaks. We all need them sometimes :) Totally agree that it's nice we love what we do, but work shouldn't consume our entire lives!

Employers give their employees days off so that they will always have the energy to give it their best. And that should be applied to self employed content creating too 🙌🏻✨.
