I saw your video about a month ago and I had to come back and say thank you!!!! I've grown cucumbers and grew up with cucumbers in the garden BUT I never understood how much more manageable the process can be! You guys put it straight and short and that is so helpful. Very much appreciate your video. I've never pruned my cucumbers before and every year I'd end up in a tangled mess side stepping all over to harvest. This method works so well! I'm trellising mine and have a W shape trellis I've been training them up with tomato clips and pulling the suckers. They've about reached the topic my garden which is 6 ft. But I also created a trellis in front of my porch which is 10 foot 😂 people are going to get tired of me offering cucumbers by the end of this season. Thanks again!! You all are awesome ❤😊

Wow I've been watching all sorts of cucumber youtube videos and this is by far the best explanation on stringing & pruning cucumbers. So neat. I'll be doing the same but I have 7" trellis netting I'll clip to. Subscribing. I love how you break down the structure of the vine.. the main stem, the branch, the fruit, the tendril and the sucker. Make it so easy.

Four plants in a 8x3 wooden raised bed and one tomato plant...which is hidden under my “invasive weed” looking cucumber plants as Miss Molly called them. Lol. Thank you for this clip, I am new to gardening and never grown cucumbers, now I got some very large potted cucumbers and all of them starting to have droopy leafs:( I’ve been watering them and it’s pretty warm in my greenhouse. I’ve been researching so much and everyone is saying something different. Did a test on the stems and and it’s not a bacteria infection, some leafs have yellow spots, some are good looking. Is there anything I can do to safe them?

Yes pruning is essential, but there are times when I don't like to cut the suckers maybe because I only have one or two cucumber plants hehe! Thank you for the tips sis.

I have my cucumbers leaning against a trellis but they are now higher than the trellis is it safe to cut off the top?

nice ! , I just grew my own cucumber plant in a pot and it is masive , i had secure it with some wooden dowels and string but I pruned some branches already , now Im getting male flowers but I hope my plant starts producing female flowers soon so i can get some fruit :D

The only pinching I do is my wife 😅 but yes this does improve growth in cucumber as well, I can't stop hearing this Jamaican guy, cucumba, it's probably my favourite thing in my garden, cucumber takes away bad breath, incredible how much water it has and yet so insanely flavourful ❤ hope I didn't offend anyone, I had a few drinks and actually added a slice of cucumber to it, kinda killed the taste in a good way, I feel very healthy right now 🥳😇 Very nice and simple video, thanks 🙏 greetings from Thailand 🙏

Hey there! I have two varieties of cucumbers growing, a pickling variety and Armenian. I’m training them this same way, however I’m noticing that the female flowers are only appearing on the suckers. Which makes me not want to prune the suckers, for obvious reasons. Do you have any idea why this would be occurring? I’m noticing it mainly on the Armenian cucumbers, but the pickling variety has very few female flowers as well. I started both from seed around April/May (had to restart several, my dog ate them down to sticks multiple times LOL). Thanks!!

Hi..i have heaps of flowers but NON is budding n they are all fslling off...as fast as they fall off new flowers are forming...but this is the only cycle im seeing...no fruits n its more than 3 months just this cycle...how do i so csll break the cycle gor them to bloom n bear fruits? Im foing hydroponics cucumber...csn i get some advice pls....thsnk you.

I am brand spanking new at growing a cucumber plant. I do flowers galore, but nvr cucumber. So I got one plant it looked so beautiful, I was so proud of myself I got 3 cucumbers from it and more were growing. Than bam I get the damn spots they brown and wilt up I cut all the bad, than the flowers stopped coming my leaves drooped bad and the little vines browned. So I have some new baby leaves with the thing you plucked off. I suspected overwatering transplanted it, and now I want it to grow again. So I'm wondering with zero flowers and starting from two baby leaves and two of those leaves with the thing you plucked off , how can I get it to flower and grow again?

My cucumber plants are going up and up and up I got plenty of flowers are these things are getting to be like 6 foot tall Can I cut the tops

My cucumber plant is spreading out too much. It already has so many branches that I will have to sit down & figure it all out. Do you still recommend pruning it?

Wish I would have seen this sooner ... First time gardener here -- just a smaller raised garden bed in my small urban yard! .... My cucumber plant is out of control. Unruly. And somewhat shading out the rest of my veggies in the 6x3 foot garden bed ... It has had lots of flowers for at least a month, and just one sprouting cucumber. Leaves and "pointers" (as you call them) crowded everywhere vertically ... I finally just went in and started pruning it like mad. Sure wish I had seen this video first tho ... I guess I"ll see how things play out this year and learn for next year! lol. It's kinda heart-breaking bcuz it such a beast ... (And that's what I call it too:)
