I had some lovely fig varieties but lost them all in last year’s harsh winter! I’m building up my collection again though. I’ve just subscribed and look forward to seeing more of your videos. I have a gardening channel too that you might like!

Hi. Many thanks for watching and for the message. I keep looking at Fig ‘Panachee’ as it is also classed as hardy in the U.K. and self fertile. Not sure I have space for a collection though 😄 I’ll take a look at your channel. All the best with your gardening and thanks for subscribing 🪴🌻

@@diyhomeandgardening Panachee was one of the ones I lost! Tempted to try again though and keep it in the greenhouse overwinter till it's bigger and hopefully better able to cope outside. I've got a Goutte d'Or replacement already, so fingers crossed.

@@PlasBachGarden Goutte D’or definitely needs free draining soil and a bit of winter protection. I’ve worked in garden centres a long time and really the only variety that is tough as they come is Brown Turkey. How about growing it on one of your walls, it looks pretty sheltered judging by your videos. Enjoy the fruits in the next couple of years.

@@diyhomeandgardening It was sold as hardy but I had my doubts. I'm thinking the very same thing with the walls and a bit of fleece, but will wait till it's bigger as it's still a baby. Have got a Brown Turkey that has survvied but not thrived in the field so have recently dug it up to rehome somewhere new and a bit more sheltered too. Hopefully will get some crops!

@@PlasBachGarden If planting then it’s always best to attempt a brick pit type approach. Basically a lot of drainage and containing the root zone. Enjoy your weekend
