Hey Riley - it's possible to pump on a regular skateboard but it's a bit different and a bit more tricky too. If you're starting out and are learning to improve your surfing too, I'd recommend a surfskate because the trucks are looser, the feeling is more similar to surfing too. Hey Sam, what did you buy your surfskate for? Longboards can be fun for cruising! If you're using the surfskate as a surf trainer, you might like to try to get a board which replicates that a bit more.
