Totally wrong! You just need to turn the power on and hold the DPF button for 5s , dashboard will tell you to start your engine and your car will complete the self cleaning itself. So simple
This is insane on a modern vehicle, so old mate is taking his wife to the hospital for the birth of their first child and the Car wants to stop for 25 minutes to have a DPF burn. My mate has one of these and the sales person never told him about this .
No need for the 2 minute wait at stage 1 Vehicle off Foot off the brake Press start button twice Press DPF button until dash says to start Foot on brake, Start vehicle Sit and wait… make sure you aren’t in a garage or parking building lol
@@samsamson6617 Mine didn’t work for ages, then someone told me to put my A/C on blast before you do this process to help boost it! I tried it and it worked
This car is a piece of s*** every 100 ks it does this stupid burn off I was better off with the clapped out piece of s*** I own before it 35,000 worth of f****** rubbish what's the point of having sports mode when it goes into limp mode and doesn't f****** move at all there's no sport in that don't ever waste your money on this
Worked perfectly without having to hold down for 2 minutes! If you don’t want to sit on the side of the road for 20 minutes waiting, YOU CAN DRIVE THE CAR IN MANUAL USING THE GEAR SHIFTS back home and do it there whilst cracking a beer! 🍻👍
This all seems ridiculously complex. I’ve owned a few diesel vehicles and Injave never had to do anything like this. It’s turning me off buying one of these. Who has 25 minutes to spare during a work day to do this procedure?
Don't need to do 2 minutes on the vanta. Maybe others are different. Just tap start so accessories screen comes up. Hold down self clean button, when it says start in idle, KEEP FINGER ON SELF CLEAN BUTTON, footnon brake and start it. Revs will go over 2000, aircon on full also lifts revs
You buy a ute because you don't want complicated, not to sit on you couch, not to go 200mph. If the vehicle is standing next to the road, you don't want to feel you need dr Phil. You need spares availability under every tree, you don't buy to stand out, or far out, you buy because you need to get home on time. If you can't afford new, get a trusted secondhand and be on time. Lines up, mama to
Thank you, thank you, thank you. It worked. I had already booked the car in for Wednesday. What was frustrating me this time is that it also lost engine power. These videos really help.
My concern is the safety part of this DPF cleaning. When this appears the car looses power if your in the middle of an intersection you can almost creat an accident very dangerous no way of getting out of the way of an on coming vehicles.. It takes 20 minutes to do the clean and it users enough diesel to travel 12 to 15 KM .. Seriously you wouldn't want to be going to an emergency then this comes up...another thing has anyone experienced the FRONT Tyres wearing on the outside....anyone has that problem please let me know
Emissions compliance. ALL modern diesels require a diesel particulate filter. This burns off the hydrocarbons or soot that the DPF catches in the exhaust.
Have had this vehicle since December 2022 now 6 months & this cycle is happening about every 4 weeks… Have followed the video clip & whilst it’s worked every time with the exception of this last time, I’m never ever recommending this vehicle to anyone!
I know how you feel. If I'm lucky I get a good freeway run and that will trigger it every few days, E: after the freeway run when I exit, so only 2 min from home or work it is triggered, which is inconvenient. Why won't it do it while on the freeway? Today I had a good freeway run into work as it's Saturday and it triggered a DPF. So I left it running while I went inside for coffee, then came out and turned it off 20min later. Still had to limp home though, because now it wanted a exhaust clean. Limp home with no power and then used this process for an exhaust clean where it ran for 20 min at 2500rpm! Why didn't it give me some power on the drive home and let me rev it's head off going home instead?! 20min of it just screaming at my doorstep for an exhaust clean when it had already done a DPF clean for 20min this morning.
@@paulhough4684 after 3 previously failed attempts the process of the DPF self cleaning process is working through the 15 minute clean cycle. Talking to the dealership I got the car from someone there who wants to be anonymous told me that the cars are left to idle on the wharf in china for over 8 hours & this is what is causing the issue happening more often than it should. I for one will be returning to the dealership soon to just get them to fix this annoying recurrence. It shouldn’t need to do this cycle every 3 weeks surely🙄
I am buying a GWM vehicle and I would like to know if they are resistant and if they are good for resale. Is there any news that they rust after three years?
Thanks! There's some debate below which may make it faster but all I know is I crawled home in limp mode tonight and did it the way described in the video and it worked. Whether or not other ways are better I don;t know, but they wouldn't have been able to suggest them in the comments if you didn't upload this video. I found no help elsewhere. (Company car, no idea where the manual is)
Never if you allow the auto clean cycles to complete, which take around 20mins. If you do a lot of long driving to and from work or just in general you'll never have to worry about this manual clean.
